  1. Getting fleeced in the PLD trade didn't help. PLD shatting the bed fanned the flames. Kings' fans wanted his head on a platter. I'll bet most Kings' fans are happy with the move.
  2. On more no trade lists than any other team. I don't think 2nd place would even be close, but I'm not sure Chevy has over paid for that many players over the years. Connor 50m over 7 years. Up for a huge raise...I think 10m or more. Morrissey signed for 8 x 6.25m. Three more seasons in that one. Vilardi bridged under 3.5m for 2 years. Perfetti bridged for 3.25m for 2 years. Scheif 7 x 8.5m and same as Helle. He has had a few doozies in the past like Pavelec. Kulikov for 10m over 3 years. Some people think Pionk's is too long at 6 years. Wheeler's was too long and a bit high but Chevy has said they thought they might be buying him out at the end of the deal and it was discussed before he was signed. All in all, I think he is pretty frugal considering he is in one of the, if not the, hardest market to be a GM, especially concerning free agents. Here's what I remember Jets' players saying why they like it here. Good place to raise a family, schools are mentioned. Most of the players say the organization treats them well and the wives/families are integrated quite well. (Well, maybe not Trouba's!) They usually make the playoffs. No MBL or NFL or NBA so they are the biggest ticket around. Players like Iafallo asked for an extension and said he likes the outdoors. Helle, Connor, Iafallo, Samberg and some others are big hunters/fishers. They don't mention it but they are paid in USD and that turns into 1.4 as much in CAD. If players like the nightlife, they probably wouldn't like living here for 7 months.
  3. He is fine as a backup, not as a starter,
  4. The Stars are not playing well and their D is suspect. LA have been playing playoff hockey for awhile now.
  5. I see LA and the Avs winning.
  6. They were just put in their place by the Jets last night.
  7. Canucks score 5 in 3rd period and win in OT!
  8. Nill is doing well?
  9. I owe you a Stella the next time they play. My head is pounding like you would not believe.
  10. Congrats on the win. We were out-goalied by a country mile.
  11. Let's have a good game where the refs call it properly. That's all I ask.
  12. I'm not sure that I will be leaving my seat. I am still pretty sick. Getting over pneumonia. My head is killing me, it's so bloody noisy in here.
  13. I don't think Chevy has ever offer sheeted anyone and I don't expect him to. Whether Ehlers extends or or not is yet to be seen. I think Chevy might be waiting to see how he does in the playoffs..
  14. You say that like finding somebody to offer him 6.8 million dollars is going to be easy. The Sabres could still match.
  15. Do you really think he is going to Europe? If he negotiates a deal, the Sabres can match. Again, no leverage.
  16. So what is his leverage? He can sit out but then all the Sabres have to do is let him sit.
  17. Chevy had Kane, Laine, PLD and Trouba that wanted out. He took his time and waited until what he thought was a fair deal before trading them. Peterka has no leverage whatsoever. If he wants out, tell him to suck it up and keep playing well until he finds a fair deal.
  18. Very well said. For the Comrie haters, he has a .914 sv% this year
  19. I would have loved Cozens on the Jets roster. Ottawa gave up a lot for him, Norris is a good player.
  20. The Coilers have needed goaltending for ages. Looks good on them. I despise that team almost as much as TO.
  21. You mean the fact that Ukraine wants to join but Russia doesn't want them to because they won't be able to invade Ukraine any more or if the states wasn't due south of us, who is going to stop Russia from invading? I'll answer that for you...nobody.
  22. Chantel grew up in Winnipeg. Her father is from Lockport and grew up not far from where I live now in Lockport. She is married to the lead singer of Our Lady Peace. My two cents...didn't care for her rendition at all. Henderson's goal will always be considered the biggest goal in hockey for people that are old enough to remember. I'd say number 2 is Lemieux's goal in the 1987 Canada cup. McJesus' goal isn't considered as high because it wasn't the best players in hockey in the tourney. No Russians, no Draisatl, no Ehlers, no Stutzle, Seider, Peterka, Pasta, Necas and the list goes on and on. It had serious meaning to it because of Trump. Imagine, Trump has brought out the worst in Canadians (lots of other places as well) and we are booing a country's anthem? I was at the Sharks' game last night and some people were booing the anthem. Facking classless. I wouldn't even boo the Russian anthem and you don't want to know what I think of Putin. (I'd love to introduce him to a 180 Nosler partition Let's just leave it at that). You should boo the man, not the country. If the USA wasn't due south of us the ruskies would be in Edmonton in under a half a day for Christ's sake. It was a great game and I think Binnington played well and stood on his head in OT and that really surprised me. Very evenly matched and lots of intensity. They should have it every 4 years two years after/before the Olympics. They have to find out a way to get the world's best players out there, not just 4 countries. My two cents.
  23. Austin Matthews leaves him alone in the slot. It was a great game though.
  24. His impact in this tournament has been very close to zero.
