  1. “He’s a solid player,” Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said of O’Regan. “He’s got good hockey sense, he’s got good compete for a small guy. He’s not afraid, he gets inside. “That’s the biggest thing if you’re going to play at that stature. You’ve got to be a little fearless, and he’s got that. He’s an interesting prospect.” O’Regan was called up from the AHL after Barclay Goodrow suffered an upper body injury last Thursday against Florida and was placed on injured reserve. At the time, O’Regan, last season’s AHL Rookie of the Year, led the Barracuda with 12 points in 12 games. “The thing I’ve liked about him is he’s competed,” Pavelski said. “He’s been first on pucks, he’s been in the corners, he doesn’t shy away from anything. O’Regan has been able to feel comfortable in a power play role right away thanks in part to the similarities between the system the Sharks run and the one employed by Barracuda coaches Roy Sommer and Ryan Mougenel. Excerpts from recent San Jose Mercury News article
  2. Would love to get Dillon Dube from the Flames. All around stud who should compete for minutes next year.
  3. Wilsons been a hell of a pickup. Some smarts on that line.
  4. Guy who thinks changing locker rooms is a practical and effective motivator is calling someone else dumb?
  5. This is gross dude, and unnecessary.
  6. Loving Jack's overall game this year. Finally using length and speed as defensive weapon. I like the way hes trending at 20 years old.
  7. Thanks for the analysis Randall.
  8. Reinhart absolutely brutal. 3rd year now; no reason why he should look so scared and lost.
  9. Same, although I have full trust in a prudent Botty not just making a splash for the sake of it. A lot of Botty's comments on D start with integration into Housley's system, which I'm sure is what really made Shatty a target. Happy about saving the money, but if Botty/Houser wanted him bad, its tough not to be a little upset that they didn't get their guy.
  10. From NHL Network, we were one of 3-4 teams with major term/money on table for Shatty. I personally wouldn't have been happy w such a large contract for one-dimensional point but interesting to hear Botty was deep in talks.
  11. Yup. Great low-risk signing overall. Just have never heard/seen anything supporting him being a locker-room or on-ice leader. Mostly to the contrary.
  12. The guy has played 500 NHL games, so its odd to say hes not worth it because of 13 games. Great hometown, shorter-term deal for NYR.
  13. Have you read the bolded above somewhere? Please share. Most of what I've read/seen of Benoit is frustrating inconsistency and even more frustrating, poorly timed penalties. Still, as I said, an upgrade over Foligno, especially in skill imo.
  14. One of the most undisciplined players in the league. Stupid penalties can quickly wear out one's welcome. Plus flashes of high skill with inconsistency can also frustrate. Still, an upgrade over Foligno, imo.
  15. "As of now, reasonable to think the Sabres will have four prospects (Mittelstadt, Pu, Luukkonen, Davidsson) in Buffalo this winter at the WJC" - Kris Baker This event just got a lot more exciting. Those lucky enough to attend: make it a special one!!
  16. It's fun when you get a new GM to trust his judgement and reserve your own. Message boards have turned fanbases into the most vocal and impatient lot. Let the guy establish a track record please.
  17. Mittelstadt going to make this a whole lotta fun!
  18. Sooooo excited for the World Juniors now! Jealous of Buffalonians.
  19. I couldn't do a pull up in high school. I now way 220 pounds with 2% body fat.
  20. People judging an 18 year old on pull ups    Stands out on ice with elite skill more than anyone else in this draft.
  21. Next American stud after Keller, Eich. Went from having nothing in Juniors to now having one of the top prospects. And hosting him to boot.
  22. Really good stuff. Underperforming, former top prospect who can move the puck, has speed and is still young. Perfect project with high ceiling for Housley. One red flag is a brash party rep that is similar to Kane's (instagram, etc.). Those two might not be a good match.
  23. I think its pretty hard to argue against ROR as captain. He has emerged as an all-world two-way center. Hopefully the GM change will stem what was feeling like an anointment of captaincy to Eich.
  24. lol at people thinking TP is some genius with some plan in place that we can't see. I challenge anyone to find a more unintelligent owner in sports; one so wholly unfit and void of any prudence or ability to evaluate talent. Takes more greed and amorality to make billions destroying the earth than business acumen and foresight (see Beverly Hillbillies or most other inbred oil tycoons).
