Right, so there is no evidence that Pegula exhibits this specific smugness or ego that you claim exists. Got it.

The Sabres value has increased five times since Pegula bought them for 189M in 2011 (they're valued at around 1.13B now). The Sabres do not need 'every penny' Pegula has.

He's had a chance to pound his chest over the Bills for almost 7 years now. His daughter is a world class tennis player. How many victory laps has he taken over those accomplishments? He's not Jerry Jones. Once he finally hires a competent GM for the Sabres, he'll fade into the background like he has with the Bills. There are a lot of ways to describe Pegula. Egotistical is not one of them.

Why do you think Adams lied about the coaching search? I mean, what experienced coach, who as in his right mind, would agree to work under Adams? Anyone with that level of experience could clearly see that Adams was steering this ship into an iceberg. A phone call to these guys would last 3 minutes before they said no f'n way, especially after Adams told the candidate that he woukd have to retain Matt Ellis on the staff. Adams could have made 10 of these calls in 2 hours. Ruff took this job because he still wanted to coach and nobody else was calling him, and the Sabres job was an opportunity for him to work from home.

Terry just needs to hire a good GM. It worked for the Bills; it'll work for the Sabres. How does he hire a good GM? Luck. That's it. It's no different than 95% of the other owners of any other franchise inany other sport. Terry didn't hire Beane because he's some kind of football genius. Of all the issues the Sabres have, this one is the easiest to fix. So man-up Terry, fire Palm Trees and roll the dice on a new GM. Your luck is bound to change.

Agree that you either aquire players like that, or you take on the difficult, uphill task of coaching them to play that way. Ruff is taking on that task now, aided by assistants who spent the last four years doing nothing to instill the mindset in the players to go to the net. The odds are low that Ruff can reset the instinct and ingrained behavior of this current roster, but if he can do it, it will take much more than just 30 games.

Don't even joke about this. Keep Josh Allen AWAY from this team. At all costs.
