Who knows? The goal might be to dress 8 left shot defensemen every night.

Coaching and roster construction.

So what is Byram's role on this team? PP1 QB? PP2 QB? PK1? Is he better than the two #1 overall picks the Sabres have on the roster, who can't be teamed together? He's the 6th puck-moving defenseman on the roster. Does a team really need that many puck moving defensman? He's 22. The 5th defenseman on the roster who is under 25. The Sabres will be the youngest team in the league next year, again. This roster is not built with a purpose (players filling roles that support a system). It's just a collection of repetitive high-end skill sets thrown together in hopes that "development" will result in winning. Problem is, nobody has any clue what this team is trying to develop into.

Roster just became more of a mess.

Watching Matt Ellis draw out a play on the bench is disturbing, to say the least.

Rounding up, winning 2 out of 3 the rest of the season gets them to 88 points.

The Sabres could lose 150 more games by the time Power turns 25.

We're really not. This team doesn't play the game right. They are weak in front of the net in both zones. They don't play a 200 ft game. They are terrible on special teams. They are the youngest team in a league that does not reward youth; and they are getting younger. Several of the vets brought in to add experience to the lineup are in Rochester. They're not strong on the puck and are not hard to play against. This team needs a fundamental shift in its direction.

A lot. His best quality is his willingness to pay bad coaches after firing them. His worst quality is his inability to hire a good coach. And if you are worried about Terry's ability to pay fired coaches, don't. Terry could pay the salary of every fired coach in every major sport and it wouldn't even form a small dent in his fortune.

They were saying the same thing about Krueger before he was fired. If Pegula possess one good quality, it's firing people who can't get the job done. If the Sabres finish with less than 80 points this season, Adams will be gone.

For Kevyn? Decades.

Should fire Adams and hire an experienced GM first, and then let the GM hire the coach. Pegula won't do this though, because he has an aversion to hiring experienced GMs. And he picks the coach himself to ensure the coach reports to him.

Brian Billick was the Ravens coach. Joe Gibbs won the Super Bowl with Doug Williams, Jay Schroeder, and Mark Rypien. John Gruden won with Brad Johnson. Bill Parcells won with Jeff Hostetler. There are just enough coaches who won the Super Bowl with journeymen QBs to make the argument that you don't need a great QB to win. Bills fans debated this alot during the drought. But I don't buy it. I'm with you, in most cases, a coach needs a great QB to be a consistent winner, and to win the Super Bowl.

I think one of the problems with this team is that it does confuse effort with results. From the GM on down.

Who or what do you want to trade Thompson for? Trading Eichel is not turning out to be a good move for the franchise. He won the Cup last year while the Sabres finished 19th, and are trending to finish worse than that this year. How about hiring a GM who can build a team around his best players instead of trading them away to cover up his own ineptitude?

Right now, this franchise is nothing more than a grab bag of solid prospects, with no clue what to do with them.

Terry's boy has no clue how to build an NHL roster that can compete on a nightly basis. I have faith in Terry's history of firing his buddies when losing becomes inevitable.

Because he's the GM's idea of a legitimate top 4 NHL defenseman. Unfortunately, the GM is an idiot.

Fire Adams and let the new GM hire the coach.

So being impatient means you want to get rid of Savoie, Kulich, and Power? Am I impatient if I want the Sabres to keep those three guys but fire Adams? What's the definition of impatience here?
