I have been telling you guys Schaller would be a part of this team...I really like this kid. PS. We got Eichel. We got ROR. We got Lehner. Rochester got Garbowsky. I am happy. I cannot complain, about ANYTHING.

Such. A. Good. Move. When Ryan O'Reilly won his Lady Byng award, he mentioned his older brother Cal... "My brother Cal, I did everything he did growing up, and he really showed me how to play and really respect the game." They are very close. I am sure everyone has seen the workout video of them. They do everything together. They hold each other accountable. They push each other to reach new heights. They talk about it at the beginning of the video, in interviews and articles. Even with Cal most likely being in Rochester, it's such a savvy move for Tim Murray to do this. Ryan O'Reilly will be moving to the other side of the country. He's been in Colorado since he was 17-18 years old. Now his best friend and brother will be an hour down the thru-way, if/when he needs him. Some people might laugh at this, but this should not be overlooked or scoffed at. It's huge. I know many brothers who have played hockey, and the times they were at their best or achieved their most success, was when they were near each other and together. This will be beneficial and positive. (Here's the link to the workout video if anyone has not seen that yet... )

I think McGinn not only makes the team out of camp, but I think he contributes and has a pretty solid year. He's in a contract year. He's still young and has produced before. I think he could be a solid player and surprise some people, if given the chance. With him, Foligno and Deslauriers...I see no reason to spend money on Chris Stewart, who had 3 goals in 26 games with the Wild, or something like that.

Sorry, forgot all about this post. Yes, I have PS4, and NHL, Madden, NBA are the only games I buy each year and play. Lol. I do have GTA and COD (the newest ones), but I never play them. Just can't be patient enough with it to work. Which also tends to be a downfall with the sports games sometimes doing the GM Modes, I quickly start over, or if I go off script and it becomes too unrealistic, I have to start over. I did the same thing in NHL...traded Grigorenko, Zadorov and a 1st round pick for O'Reilly. (No McGinn though.) I have been updating the rosters each day, so it's all 100% to how it is now...but when I start a new GM mode, some players disappear. It's weird. Only thing that sucks is, unlike Madden where you can control all 32 teams, in NHL the draft never goes how you want it, obviously. So I put all the 18+ players on their NHL/AHL team, and then I make sure I get some of the top draft picks to trade them back to the right team. (I trade 1st round picks to Edmonton for their 1st, draft McDavid, then trade him back for my picks that I gave up to get him in the draft.) Some things I noticed...that Austin Lotz kid we are bringing to D-camp, he ends up being a high first round pick. Lol. Grigorenko ends up being a beast. Eichel, based off McDavid's stats, is pretty good. McDavid is a 74, Eichel a 73, but his defense is a little better, McDavid's offense is a little better. I just hate that Bailey and Baptiste get to 24-25 before they are even in the mid-70's. That's why it sucked not having the ability to control your AHL team and development them. Legwand is severely overrated. Lehner is quite a beast. ROR is a monster, as is Kane. Ennis and Foligno develop nicely. Bogosian is an absolute stud. The Sabres roster in this game has gotten so much better in the last week or so, as has the Amerks team. I can't wait until the new game comes out, I'll actually be able to play as the Sabres online and crush people. I just hope they get some respect in the ratings, Buffalo teams always get screwed. (Same with the Bills...they should be much, much better in Madden.)

Why does he have to wait until July 1st? (Or after it?) (Anybody else hoping Compher goes UFA in 2-3 years after college? Lol. Maybe he comes back to us! :-p )

Actual NHL Trades -- Discuss 'em in here.

I've been telling my nephew this was going to happen for a year or so now. Just like I told my cousin the same would happen to the 49ers. It's the cycle of sports. The bad teams are getting better after being bad for so long, the good teams are getting old and experiencing cap problems from their success. It happens all the time. Who would've thought the Warriors would be so good in the NBA, and the Lakers would be a lottery team? It's just the way the cycle goes...New England is next. (And I LOVE it.) -
I recommend "Happy Valley," just watched that last night. This one might be a little weird, but I'll watch just about any documentary..."Hot Girls Wanted," by Rashida Jones. It talks about how more and more girls are leaving home and becoming porn stars or webcam models, and what they go through...including the incredible amount of money they make, which is they reason they do it. It's not dirty or anything like that. Doesn't show anything, I don't think there's even nudity in it. It's more about the industry, than what they actually do. Other than that...I watch an episode of Wonder Years every night, awesome show. Lol. Weeds, House of Cards, Scandal, Criminal Minds...my list is quite long. (Wish they would put Homeland and Sopranos on there.)

I hope he called Joe Sakic a "pancake eating mother*cker!" Lmao. (Would it surprise you if he did? Didn't think so.) Matthews might very well end up being better than Eichel. Some say he could have gone #1 this year if he was born 2 days earlier. (He did completely destroy Eich's stats with the development team...I think next year's draft could be just as good as this year's.) -
How much more effort did you put into this, compared to WGR? I can't imagine a list of jersey numbers takes much "effort." Lol. It's basically the same exact thing they did, including some of the exact reasons. It'll be 15...it was always going go to be 15. The Eichel card? Yeah. The other ones aren't. (The Eichel one is the only one I can find with a Sabres logo, want it for development camp.)

I was just doing some shopping, figured I would share some things I found that might interest someone... ***Jack Eichel Sabres Rookie Card: $9.99 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Jack-Eichel-Custom-Buffalo-Sabres-Hockey-Card-/252010453314?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aacfe5942 **Draft Preview Magazine with Eichel on the cover: $19.99 (There's an autographed one for $50.) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hockey-News-Magazine-2015-Draft-Preview-Buffalo-Sabres-JACK-EICHEL-/121659335518?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c5376235e *90+ Sabres hockey cards, including 2 Eichel cards, as well as other Sabres Legends: $4.99 http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUFFALO-SABRES-90-CARDS-WITH-2-AUTOS-JACK-EICHEL-ROOKIE-/221811314692?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a4fc1004

Kevin Shattenkirk is reportedly on the trade block...but I don't see us A.) Getting another RHD, B.) Giving up many more assets in trade. He would have made more sense for Edmonton than Reinhart did. (Can't believe they only paid 1 less 2nd rounder for Reinhart, as Calgary did for Hamilton.)
-
We should just...him on this year...huh? Lol. I want Foligno and McGinn on a line together...I'd love to see Foligno center a line with McGinn and Deslauriers as his wings too. He played center a bit, no? (Better question, could he play center?) I really like McGinn, after reading up on him and seeing what Avs fans had to say about him. Sticks up for teammates, can score, hits, strong on the puck, etc. (A lot of people think McGinn gets offered decent money next year, if he stays healthy...he's probably only here for one year.)
-
Oh, do ya? (I do too, or Martin.) I thought Oduya's rights might've been what Murray and Bowman were seen talking about...I guess not.
-
So, you think McGinn is just going to what...go to Rochester? He's quite possibly a better player than Foligno.
-
"Jamie McGinn, on a good team, is a 3rd line right wing." (Makes me think that's why Murray wanted him.) http://www.diebytheblade.com/2015/6/28/8858255/buffalo-sabres-trade-analysis-ryan-oreilly-jamie-mcginn-avalanche Kane - ROR - Ennis Moulson - Eichel - Girgensons Foligno - Reinhart - McGinn Deslauriers - Larsson - Gionta (Sekera) - Bogosian Gorges - Ristolainen McCabe - Pysyk Lehner - Johnson/(Lindback) That's a playoff caliber squad, without a doubt in my mind. Or the bottom-6 could be... Larsson - Reinhart - Gionta Deslauriers - Foligno - McGinn

There will be no roster update. I had to do it all myself. Lol. (Based Eichel's ratings off McDavid's.) Thing that sucked this year was you couldn't control the Amerks, so all the prospects kind of go to waste, you can't develop them. But, they are putting it back into the game for next year, thankfully. It's the only reason I really buy it. Same with Madden and NBA...only 3 games I buy every year. Lol. (It's amazing how much better the Sabres are with ROR and Kane. Even McGinn and Legwand are decent though. Lehner is a beast. Eichel is only a 74 to start off, like McDavid.)

Murray has traded a lot of assets in a very short period of time
Bob Malooga replied to jahnyc's topic in The Aud Club
You need to invest in your business to make it better...the more you put in, the more you potentially get out. Same rules apply here, and Tim Murray has done everything the right way so far. -
Ryan O'Reilly and Jamie McGinn traded to Sabres
Bob Malooga replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
All I've wanted...and Lehner was my favorite goalie, besides Gibson. Amazing weekend...so freaking happy and excited! -
I never thought of it in this way, and that even makes me more excited. I feel like Reinhart is the forgotten one, I think that will fuel him. I hope it does. *Something else that came across my mind...didn't we give up our 2nd round pick next year for Gorges? Wouldn't that hurt RFA offer sheet opportunities, say, for Jones?
-
I agree. He has nothing to gain in the CHL, especially the QMJHL...he is better served in the NCAA, if he wants to go back. But, could you imagine him with Veleno, and then Chabot and Zboril on the backend for the Sea Dogs? That'd be impressive. This just doesn't have the same ring to it, though. Lol. http://www.saintjohnseadogs.com/roster/bio/219617 (I can't wait, even took the weekend off from DJing so I could be around to watch it. I'll possibly go to the draft party, just don't want to drive alone.) One thing that does cross my mind, will Auston Matthews be the "American Phenom" that everyone looks at and knows? (He crushed Eich's #'s w/ the USNTDP.)
-
I was thinking more for playing on the RW next to Eichel, opposite Kane...but this works too, I guess. (Still like Brock Nelson with Eichel though.) GOT EEEMMMM! Lol. I'll take either. Didn't even think of that, but I'll take it.
-
Don't doubt it, that's why I said that would be my dream scenario. I'm going for an American franchise center, head coach and starting future goalie. Work with me here...who else is American that fits that mold as a goalie? Hellebuyck? I don't understand this. "Too soon," for what? He is 27 years old, not 35. Trading for a Shane Doan or Dustin Brown is "too soon," not Kyle Okposo. (Sorry, misread your post, but others have said IT IS "too soon," for a 27-28 year old player...and I don't get it.)

How many words does GMTM say before Jack Eichel
Bob Malooga replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I think it will be something along the lines of... "We're coming, b*tches...Jack, let's go!" *drops the mic* So, six words. Timmy drops six words and a microphone. -
Yeah, I want the kid as our goalie of the future. Whether he continues in the AHL for a year like he was, or whether he is the Sabres goalie, doesn't matter. Not that hard to understand the concept.

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/20/report-islanders-okposo-could-be-trading-block/ This would be my #1 target and my favorite, I think. I was just talking to someone about him. I think he would be a good top-6 target for that open spot. Thoughts? (I'd take him over Sharp, Williams, Oshie, or any other older veteran player that we have talked about.)
