  1. Fair enough. No he's not better than Misa, Hagens or Desnoyers. I just find his engine and his away from puck play to be a glaring hole in what this team has missed outside of a few cases (Benson).
  2. I don't see that. I see his poor attitude, play style and injuries as the reason for the poor return. I loved the kid at the world juniors, and he has talent. He definitely needed a new lease on life. Briere would be a great be at mentor id think.
  3. I can see that for sure. He seems better than Boucher.
  4. I mean, highest ceiling no. Buy I love his tenaciousness. Changing the culture starts with that for me.
  5. typical goof move.
  6. If we stay at three after acquiring the pick, you draft Brady Martin.
  7. I want nothing to do with Maccelli. He does more of what we don't need which is be a passive all skill, no defensive player. We have enough of that.
  8. Yes bringing foligno back for a big body who knows the area is a HUGE yes!
  9. I agree 100% w. Perreault were. I'd be fine trading prospects ideally not named Kulich and Helenius and picks. Is Rosen/Walbach, Quinn and a second to low?
  10. I dont see the greatest fit here in terms of helping the Sabres win now in addition it's in division. It'd have to be an overpayment. Still what are the Sabres trying to get other than Cirelli. Which to me is harder for TBL to replace. I only mention in division because JJP is so young. If he's moved I'd prefer it out of conference. But at this point when youre trading guys wanting out just barely after their ELC; I guess who gives a *****. Isn't that the most damning indictment on Pegula. That a 23 year old who was drafted developed and given top line minutes has the balls to say. I want out. Pegula you've ruined the culture of this city and franchise. Where yes we were in range of a playoff spot but players feel how toxic it is here.
  11. Based on his previous coaching exposure, I'm not convinced he's that much of an upgrade.
  12. Malenstyn has been underwhelming. It's still early on that one. I personally find the Norris acquisition a complete misuse of asset management. They overpaid Greenway, though he's not completely useless. I love everything about the McLeod acquisition. Sound hockey sense, and a buy low upside on return. Personally mind boggling hitting on McLeod and being so off about Norris.
  13. Giving a player like Frederic 8 years, just proves the cap options that they have. I think he's a useable 35 point player. 18g18a type, who hits and uses his body well, but god. Finding the right players for your bottom six is important, but overpaying them through the roof, is insane. I still think the Malenstyn, Lafferty, Krebs, and sometimes Greenway group is something that needs to change. They should be using guys similar to Florida, who signs guys who need change of scenary and other offcasts who fit that role. I wasn't a fan of the Malenstyn trade, and still isn't. He seems redundant and rather pointless. I'm all for adding physicality and size. This team has been a pushover for nearly 15 years.
  14. It does still integrate young players going forward to insulate older players who lose a step. Now we need to jettison the soft roster configuration and start pushing back on the narrative.
  15. 110.00% agree. As someone else paraphrased, a team full of coasters who aren't truly willing to put their hands up. We need our own version of Ridley Greig.
  16. I only meant a player "like" Greig. We need an ***** in our line up. Sorry, Greenway is not that.
  17. Personally, I want someone like Greig back in a Peterka trade. Someone young enough to fit the group but with snarl and edge to his game. We need our own Marchand. Another rat type player I'm a fan of is L'Heureux. Not as a complete one-for-one acquisition but players with bite and edge.
  18. Byram for a late 1st seems like low value. Though the market is the market. A player who showed as a top pairing player when with another quality defenseman who just needs more PP1 time seems a bit light for being 23. The threshold should be higher.
  19. I like Samuelsson, Rosen and a third to sweeten it. It gets Samuelsson out the door, moves a player I don't see as a realistic top six option and a draft pick for an upgrade. Not sure this will be enough, but at least a start.
  20. I definitely agree here, the only thing that Robertson has going against him, is he is NOT a great skater. Other than that at 25, you're getting an in his prime powerhouse. Peterka has a lot of upside, but at the same time, it's getting to the point for players to start feel confident playing here is to win.
  21. LGR4GM, you trust in UPL?
  22. If there's a market for UPL, move off his term and give Levi then net and sign a veteran backup.
  23. All these different fan bases thinking JJ Peterka isn't worth what he's worth is maddening. I've seen some of the worst trade speculation ever. It's all due to Adams being a goof.
  24. Robertson is such an Adams target as far as checking boxes. He needs a win now producer, who also plays a two way game in their prime. This is NOT only an obvious hope for Sabres fans, it's an obvious choice for that blithering idiot with the GM hat on.
