Expectations are rightfully high and the teams here haven’t met them in a long time. The goal is to meet those expectations and love playing here.” It’s the same thing only it takes ownership. I don’t see a Huberdeau situation happening with Sam in the slightest. Sure, he isn’t going to be a PPG+ player for 6-8 years, but I think his style of game ages well. He’s a net front puck hound with crazy hand eye skills. As his skating declines you continue to increase his O-Zone usage. Similarly to how Vanek aged well for what he was, I think we’ll see the same for Sam, only with increased production.

This is almost always the case once a player hits the open market. Team control is a helluva drug.
