I know that, but you have to dress someone. And that person isn't thinking about tanking so the organization can draft a wunderkind making him expendable. And I do not think absent a direct order from the owner, that TN sits anyone as a healthy scratch. He would effectively be done in the locker room and probably the league.

No. The players will play to win. You would need to ice a sled hockey team to garauntee a fail. The replacements don't care about the draft, hell the new kid could relegate them to the A for the rest of there career. Besides you don't want any of the young core to not try...ever! Management did what it could to handicap this race, the chips will fall as they will fall. The tank is for all intents and purposes is over. Whether it is a success or not remains to be seen.

And I will concede the floor to Qwk...carry on boys.

I still think he needs to shoot more often, but yes he does create opportunities.

Based on what? Your perceived value? Deslauriers brings the same skill set to a third or fourth line, i.e. physicality and grit, that Stewart does but on a more consistent basis. Stewart may have better scoring touch, but that is usually mitigated in a shut down role.

No they are both garbage, that‘s all.

This move really shakes my confidence that the Sabres will ever turn it around. If TP is allowing Ryan do anything but fill out the lineup and call defensive plays, then he is an idiot and neither franchise will be worth a shyte. I have no use for Ryan, do not see him as anything but a decent d coordinator. If he is making personnel decisions instead of the gm they are doomed. McCoy is pos as a human being but I guess a good fit for that garbage barge Ryan.

I would posit that Larson is much more efficient skater. He is usually in the right position while Mitchell chased.

A Sabres team entering the o zone with possession...huh. Why? He does a lot right, plays 200 feet has some O, and is a decent pk player.

TN has extensive experience in junior and international hockey dealing with young players. My concern is his inability to utilize talent and create synergy among players.

I think the culmination of the tear down buys much needed time. Wherever we draft we will be adding a significant talent, possibly two. We will restock the cupboards with the later rounds. There are heir apparent s who now have lanes that allow them to move up and take positions on the roster. We have cap space and assets to deal still deal. Why I realize people will want to leverage all of this for immediate success next year, it is not a necessity but rather a luxury. We can allow the maturation process to take place and if a deal presents itself we can take advantage. We will no longer be reacting, we can be proactive or not. I look to 2016 where there seems to be a bounty of UFA's that may hit the market. Also, teams may need cap relief this summer, cough Chicago, so bargains could be had. Now that the lot has been leveled and a foundation is taking shape, this team has options that give me great hope for the future. And in the end every season is about hope and faith. My hope is back and my faith is growing.

I think that happens anyway. But I am more confident in the shart when every team knows these guys can be had for next to nothing, yet nobody wants them. I also think we need to keep stocking the farm. The Kane/Bogosian deal was possible because we had assets on the farm that people wanted. I would take the picks, and look to bolster the roster in the off season via trades. I think it was you who previously stated they are currency.
-
Why would you sign him then? What I glean from this is that the crap on this roster is non marketable to any real team. Yet people on here want to sign these turds to long term deals to flesh out the lineup. Curious to say the least.

I disagree on the earshot. If you think you might miss you do not give away a lottery ball no matter how small your chances. You must be certain you are in.

Ok make the call I'll get Terry on board, TM can finalize the details.
