  1. Yeah, but at least at New Year's there's a possibility Quinn stays healthy the remainder of the season and UPL goes on this excellent two-month stretch and they scrape out 3 more wins... and... stupidly and impossibly... we'd be in the playoff hunt with only six more points.
  2. So you're saying there's a... not a chance in hell. 😇 Same as it has been since the Sabres lost to DET back on 3/16.
  3. Oettinger on fire. Stankoven/Johnson are future top-6 destroying teams on the 3rd line. Dallas can clinch the division tonight. I've got a bad feeling about this.
  4. Not a chance. He plays well for two games. Then gets Ellis/Granatoed and we all end up complaining about his compete level and lack of accountability. The PP stays garbage and he only scores meaningless points after games are well-decided. Then, 15 games in, he needs to resurface his hip again.
  5. This was my run-it-back lineup from another thread and I'm sticking to it. There should be 2 UFAs (or acquisitions via trade) in the bottom 6. But... don't expect it. Peterka - Thompson - Tuch Benson - Cozens - Quinn Skinner - UFA 3C (Savoie) - Greenway Girgensons - Krebs - UFA 4W (Kulich) (Rousek) Power - Dahlin Byram - Jokiharju Samuelsson - Clifton (Johnson) Luukkonen Levi
  6. Goodness, no. The Amerks need him to keep building chemistry for the playoffs.
  7. Wahlberg has an assist and a +3 with time remaining in the 1st period.
  8. (Admittedly, the playoffs were out of the picture awhile ago) but, the season was completely on the line today and you can play spoiler against the team in front of you in your own division... ...and the game was decided in the first 8 minutes with another incredibly flat start.
  9. I've seen the refs blow that down immediately this season. Refs are asleep.
  10. Good interference by Dahlin there. Lucky the refs are going with playoff rules.
  11. It still may not work for the Red Wings this season, but at least Yzerman has legitimately tried. And I must note, Yzerman had the courage to trade away an excellent Hronek. It was a fantastic deal for the Canucks to get a top-pair partner for Quinn. The Wings needed ice time for Edvinsson and they needed money to go address the holes up front (Compher). TNT discussing Power's contract and game. Power will never justify the contract points-wise because of Dahlin. Power could become great, but other comparable paid D will be on their team's PP1.
  12. I like Panger on the announcing crew, but no, the Sabres didn't lose anything, not even experience, when they traded Erik Johnson at the deadline.
  13. Good fourth line shift. I still think Rousek can play that role next season. They need a heavier presence, but he's just solid on the walls.
  14. Thanks, Sabres! I was worried that the game would be distracting and I would procrastinate doing my yardwork and some work work to be ready for Monday. Nope. No worries there.
  15. Jeepers, Quinn telegraphed that pass for about 2 seconds. Raymond, all too easy.
  16. And the Bills have the QB who can do exactly that. Draft a couple WRs on day 2 and watch Allen make them into household names come playoff time. Yes, Packers fan. And I want the Bills to stop being the Vikings of the AFC. Over the last 30 seasons, the Vikings have loved drafting perimeter players in the 1st instead of OL and front seven D, including the greatest WR ever not named Jerry Rice and one of the best WRs I've seen in Jefferson. And they have nothing to show for it because they don't ever have the QB. (Caveat: This year will be fun because they're drafting a QB who will have an amazing set of weapons... but history says they'll pick the wrong QB. And they're going to pay JJ like a QB instead of filling out the rest of the roster's depth like the Seahawks did on their rookie QB contract team.)
  17. Yup. Deslauriers. ROR and Eichel went out of their way to praise him and his ability to open up the ice for them. JBott’s “Murray purge” axed him and the other…. The last gritty player who you could trust in all 3 zones, Foligno.
  18. Pens and Isles have the experience that grinds out the necessary points. They’re at 4 points out now and it’ll end at 6.
  19. Everyone keeps forgetting that the Isles and Penguins both know how to collect loser points, and will win outright if given the chance. Philly, Detroit, and the Caps are not the concern.
  20. As a lefty, I feel lost if I try to shoot right-handed with a stick (lacrosse, hockey). I bat left though I dabbled as a switch. But golfing, shooting a basketball, kicking/punting have to be righty, which probably has more to do with how I was taught than feel. Edit: Of course, having my right hand cut off and replaced by a cyborg component has caused much confusion.
  21. Just remember, receivers nowadays are a dime a dozen. Grab one in the 2nd, but get the big guys early. (Opinion)
