  1. It's not impossible. I used to bulls-eye womp rats from between my legs with 1.4 seconds remaining in OT at a target not any bigger than two meters.
  2. They won't need to because they'll be able to rest in the second. You've got to give the fans what they want. I had to look back --- Gm2 at Buffalo we needed the fans happy. And in Gm6 Philly fans needed the release of those boos.
  3. They're excellent. But Trotz has them play defense and counter and they completely took their foot off the gas in the third once they instantly got the goal back to make it 5-2. Other more offensive-minded teams are going to run-and-gun and get their points stats. Ovie is going to be psyched to go for hat tricks against Hutton/JJ.
  4. And this was against a fellow stifling/low-event team. Can you imagine what we'll look like when we face teams that are now in midseason form and want to try and score? The Pens, the Caps, Boston... those teams are going to pulverize us. Pulverize?!
  5. We had the opportunity coming out of COVID break. Beat the median/bottom teams: NYI, PHI, NYR, NJ to get back right in the 5th-6th range. Because maybe, just maybe then you end up having one of those flukey seasons where you just plain own Boston and/or Pitt -- you know, like how Detroit owned ... was it Montreal? last season or something. We did not do that. I feel so... helpless.
  6. I've gotten nostalgia for casseroles at times... If I make them like my mom made them, with the ingredients available at the time --- yeah. No good. But if you make a casserole with some really good ingredients and really good recipe? That casserole can be delicious. I guess it's like a franchise. I made a tuna casserole with fresh mushrooms, homemade roux/cream, top-shelf oil can tuna. Delicious. But as a kid we got cream of mushroom condensed, bottom-shelf Bumblebee in water... it was tasty, but... not good.
  7. Well... yeah, me too. But this about @PASabreFan's initial comment which was about a single event. A goal of such skill/effort vs. a single fight.
  8. So... fire Krueger tonight so the NBC game tomorrow with some interim coach actually has the skaters showing an effort?
  9. With NBC the flex is to move the game to NBCSN or to just go to the Kentucky Derby pre-race 3 hours early.
  10. It certainly doesn't have to be. It was a response to a comment on the joy of a goal like Barzal's vs. a fight.
  11. Just keep him long enough to win the #1 pick in the lottery?
  12. Oh good! Tomorrow's game against the Isles is nationally televised on NBC. The rest of the US can get in on this fun.
  13. Yup. But he still should've been pulled in the second to let the skaters know their defensive effort was pathetic.
  14. So... how do we respond after scoring a goal?
  15. Beautiful deflection, Reino!
  16. Hall-Staal-Cozens was starting to look decent, not great, but decent. Hall and Cozens join Eichel, and they've been invisible offensively. Yes, that includes the opening-shift goal which was a good forecheck, then a pass to the point and shot through a screen. Good job. Since then, nothing.
  17. Are you doing the "NYI goal = 100 sit ups" "NYI shot = set of 20 squats" ?
  18. Rebellions Playoffs Victories 1st period leads are built on hope.
  19. NYI with 12 second-period goals all season; today 4 goals (and time remaining)
  20. So... take a timeout, change the goalie, send a message before the end of the period? Anything?
  21. If the refs continue to keep their whistles silent, we have no chance at a comeback, do we?
  22. Geoff Sanderson, at Toronto 99 playoffs. Better highlight than any Ray fight.
  23. No timeout. No goalie change. Ruff would've ripped his own mustache off back in the day in his attempt to chew them out.
  24. I go back to another thread... I think if we offered Eichel for the Islanders 4th line (all 30+ years old), they'd turn us down. It'd be idiotic, they're seemingly easily replaced individually, but they're so good at what they do and they're the heart and soul of that team.
  25. GM Sheevyn says: "Good. Gooooooood."
