Agreed. Potvin''s 2nd season was 1974-75 when no defenseman watched video and the goalies stood up in tiny pads. There's no way to compare. After some research, the Isles scored 264 goals that year. The Sabres haven't even come close to 264 since they shattered it in the 2006-07 (over 300 goals!) post-lockout free-skate season. And our top-scoring defenseman that season was Campbell with 48 points in 82 games. Dahlin will be fine. There's a lot else to worry about with this lineup than our kid defenseman.

Not so sure that was a terrible turnover. Mitts gets a takeaway in the defensive zone, moves it up, and then at the benches it's contested and way out of his reach and right to a SYR defenseman. And it goes the other direction. But it's hardly like Mitts had full control and gave it away. He's battling to move it up at the edge of his reach the entire time.

McCabe sloppy turnover, then beat in recovery. Hutton leaves a juicy rebound. And I also didn't like Risto skating on behind the net instead of sticking with Petterson (their best player!) right in the crease for a tap-in rebound if the puck had gone the other direction. Messy all around.
