This year, he's just been slow, easily skated around, and hasn't been physical (except for maybe 1 game) to support a lighter/smaller D-pair like Dahlin/Joker/Pilut. I go back to him needing about a 4-5 game rehab assignment in ROC to start. It would have given him better trade value if he'd have gotten up to speed there. But since he's been our 7-8 this season, he's been --- dare I say, a worse 7-8 than Casey Nelson would have been for us? But wrong? Nothing. He signed a contract that was fine at the time based on his potential -- but the term/cost ended up being bad for what he is. Now, he's trying to stay healthy because it's his last shot to get a good payday. But if I'm a GM next offseason, Bogo is one of those guys I'm waiting until August to pick up for $1.4-1.8M on a 1- or 2-yr deal. Like Dallas has with Sekera and Polak.

The league has to want SF - KC. Mahomes vs. the all-around NFC juggernaut. Sure, they would be happy for the Mahomes/Rodgers or Super Bowl I angle, but the point spread of KC-GB would be in the neighborhood of 14.5. Caveat: I'm an unapologetic Packers fan, so take everything I say with a grain of sand.

I like these dailyfaceoff jerseys and rankings. So I checked out our lineup... Colin Miller is the 2nd best RW on our team (after Reino). I'll have to take a look at the lines when we get Skinner and Olofsson back, because right now they're a whack-a-mole mess. And apparently all of our D-pairings are at the bottom of their respective (1st pairing, 2nd pairing, 3rd pairing) rankings across the league.

UPL with the season debut for Rochester tonight. Let's see how he does with a ... slightly scuffling... Amerks squad the last few games. And a roster missing Pilut, Lazar, Tage, Asplund, etc. Hopefully K^6 can bring them a good spark.

I don't have scanners on any of the kids, but the names Zary and Viro jump out at me as pretty cool to say and write. The only thing I can think overall of this year's draft is that, while BPA is always a good route, it'd be very nice for the BPA to be forwards the first few rounds this season. We're appearing well-stocked with defensemen for the next couple seasons and they take longer to mature. Forwards can often contribute within just a couple years (if they aren't a bust). Prioritize the forwards for this draft so we have a player or two who can make an positive impact in 2022-23.

With Lazar playing well (don't look now, but 4 points in the last 3 games, and an inch away from another goal tonight) and Frolik on the PK... Asplund could go back down to help ROC when Skinner and Olofsson return. Barring additional injuries. I am an Asplund fan, but he could use more seasoning and Lazar/Frolik play his role.

Sadly... it would appear most of those wins were during an early winning streak last year and then a hot start this year. The second half of this season, we need to beat both the bad teams and also the good teams that we still need to leapfrog.

OK - 2010-11 season. 1/18/2011 we were sitting at 20-20-5 after a win. We finished the season 43-29-10. And... (lost to Boston in the quarters). But a playoff run means a lot more to this team now than it did to that particular roster. Edit: *means

We had a heroic run to 8th in 2011-2012. We were in last place in the East going into the game on 1/24/12, at 19-24-4. We finished the season 39-32-11. We absolutely can. (Remember, we were really good in October.) We can do this! Will we... well, always in motion is the future.

An excellent example of not going into (remember the) Death Star mode. They had their pressures, but we had several good counters and lots of strong shifts in their end. Way to close out a good team.
