They’re the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Curious how far this team drops on the Super Bowl odds after this. Been behind confused at them being listed as favorites for a few weeks now.

This team has been playing like they accomplished something. They haven’t. Not an ounce of ***** to show for all the talk and the hype. Show up and play the ***** games.

This is flat out depressing.

You might think the obvious answer is no but if you really sit and think about it the answer is no.

Others can correct me if I’m wrong but I believe he has been getting more ice time of late with his SHL club. I don’t think the numbers or play is there yet, but the team seems to believe in him.

Samson’s recent uptick sets him apart from Tuch production wise. Nine points per 82 across their entire careers is not an insignificant difference on its own but Samson’s last two seasons make the gap wider. Per 60 is a useful stat but to use it in this context is to assume Tuch would be able to produce more and up his game with an increased role. We’ve seen time and time again that’s now how hockey works. I hope he’s able to do so, but we’ll see. My assumption is Tuch will have a good career here and be in the range of a 50-point player when all is said and done here. I’m excited to have him. I wouldn’t trade Samson for him one-for-one if I had the choice.

No. This is not the point. Someone mentioned Tuch is Samson. Tuch is not Samson. My point is limited exclusively to that. I did not expand beyond that. Your post is fine and good, but it has nothing to do with the conversation about who the better player is.

Very true. Equipment across the board has taken a huge step forward. Modern stars are the “best” ever because of these things. In all sports. Obviously if you transported some older players into modern times as children many would excel at a similar or greater level but just comparing one vs one the modern era will almost always be better. 20 years from now the players will be better than they are right now. Maybe not better than McDavid but definitely better on average.

I know they’re different players. That’s been my point. Someone tried claiming he was Samson. They don’t produce at a similar rate, though. Also, Samson definitely wasn’t a passer last year.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to have Tuch. He’s not a star by any means but he’s a guy who will make impactful plays. He’s also just not Samson Reinhart.

He’s been a monster in the playoffs, I’m excited about that. But he’s also only six months younger than Samson. In the two seasons since his first four (meaning years five and six), Samson is pacing 32 goals and 29 assists per 82 games.

If he keeps playing like this he might get drafted even higher next time

No. McDavid is the first and only player with the hands and speed combination he has offensively. He’s likely going down as a top ten player all time. He couldn’t. And it’s not his fault necessarily. What McDavid does and the ways to get there didn’t exist back then. The stick technology alone is a massive advantage to McDavid.
