  1. To further what I’m saying here: I am VERY confident the Sabres just leaked that list to Dreger. I believe they know the league is impressed by the Risto return and since Adams doesn’t have a track record to point to he didn’t hold much clout as a negotiator. Well, now he does. So he puts out there that Eichel talk is very active and says give me your best shot.
  2. For the record this is the type of wording that I actually believe. Just like Friedman’s tweet earlier about Risto right before it all officially broke. So now I feel like there could be something there.
  3. It’s accurate. It’s the 13th overall picks. There is no arguing that it’s a fact. Whether or not it needs added context is debatable but I say it does not because there are many variables in play that led to those players being the 13th overall pick in their draft. There will likely be better players taken after 13 this year, as well.
  4. No, it’s accurate and useful. Those are the guys drafted at 13. It doesn’t matter who has gone after them because we got pick 13. You can’t say “well, I got the winning lottery ticket because my numbers were all one off.” You get the lottery ticket you get. This isn’t shading the trade. It’s just providing context.
  5. This is a great deal, I’m not saying otherwise. It’s a lottery ticket, though. 13th overalls from 2004-2013: Drew Stafford, Marek Zagrapan, Jiri Tlusty, Lars Eller, Colton Teubert, Zack Kassian, Brandon Gormley, Sven Bartschi, Radek Faksa, Josh Morrissey. That is a terrible list.
  6. For the record while it feels like we fleeced them this is what a trade for someone like Risto should look like. As @Weavepointed out two of these things are lottery tickets (one is a very good one) and the other is a defensemen we probably won’t love. But it’s good value for a player in Risto who is flawed but should thrive on the first competitive team he’s played on in the pros.
  7. Everyone. Let’s just take a moment. Gather round. Honestly let’s hold hands. Hum a little bit. Bring s’mores if you want. Kiss each other, whatever! But I thought it’s not about need? 🤔
  8. That’s not how any of this works. Hagg is 26 and likely plays in the NHL this year either for us or another team so he matters even if Charts Guys say he sucks. The 2023 2nd rounder won’t be around for a while but it is a good piece. 13th is the gem but it’s not the only piece to consider here.
  9. Ah man the charts guys all say Robert Hagg sucks and they haven’t been wrong in line 15 minutes so now I’m sad.
  10. For that price they should be retaining 200%
  11. The Reality of Risto is somewhere between the Charts Guys and what Chuck Fletcher just paid.
  12. There’s no way Chicago gives Dach for Seth Jones.
  13. Yes, he’s skating and “training hard.”
  14. You couldn’t get Carter Hart for Risto if you attached two seconds
  15. The sleeper team in these situations is always Made The ***** Up Because These Guys Need To Cover Their Butts. Calling a sleeper team in the east gives him a 50% chance (okay technically slightly less than 50% but 46.8%) of being able to say he called it.
  16. It already was in Marvel in the tv show Agents of SHIELD
  17. The Rangers have so many “good” prospects that I am not a fan of at all. Their value is in guys I don’t think believe have realistic expectations to become cornerstones.
  18. I see nothing wrong with the name considering it’s connection to the history. Unique, for sure.
  19. This should be an easy deal for his hometown Seattle to make
  20. If you ignore contracts, sure.
