  1. Any Canadians here wanna tell us all what’s in this? https://twitter.com/tsnhockey/status/1418790027534999554?s=21
  2. My new theory is that the third piece has been hard to lock down because it hasn’t been determined yet. The two teams agreed to a trade and a 2022 first along with Levi are in it. The third piece is Vatrano without an extension signed. It’s someone else if he signs an extension.
  3. Don’t play stupid. It’s a small sample size. Nobody said it wasn’t a valid measuring tool.
  4. Never said it was and never said they should’ve traded down. Just noting a trade down happened immediately after them.
  5. If Vatrano is the other piece the deal will be complete whenever we trade him at the deadline. He’s got one year left on his deal. So IF TRUE it’s probably something like a 2022 1st, a goalie drafted in the 7th last year and a 3rd.
  6. Both of them are due for extensions and will blow that number out of the water (they will also blow the number Samson gets now out of the water).
  7. Indeed. It’s not Knight or Lundell. It wouldn’t have been them even if it were one-for-one. I’m afraid that third piece is going to be garbage like Accari or another vet throw in.
  8. That’s a stretch. He was good in a small sample size after being a 7th rounder. This is reminding me of when we were told Hudson Fasching was worth two seconds+ despite being a 4th rounder the previous year. Knight will likely be their starter with Bob backing up within the next year.
  9. You wouldn’t get Spencer Knight or Anton Lundell for Samson Reinhart even if he was on a five year team-friendly deal, let alone an RFA. Putting either of those two in the discussion is insanity.
  10. A “pressing need” at the position isn’t going to be filled by a guy who is years away. Levi’s acquisition has nothing to do with the current state of the goalie position. The more I think about it the more Levi, a 1st (as long as the conditions are incredibly easy to achieve) and another GOOD piece is good value for Samson.
  11. There’s a lot of people saying Heponiemi is NOT in the deal and that the rumor originated on a message board. A lot of Panthers fans are mad about allegedly losing him so that gave me some hope but now it appears he’s not in the deal.
  12. @GASabresIUFANcan you correct the spelling of Friedman in the title? It’s been driving me nuts lol The delay here is interesting. We know it’s not because the trade isn’t done - it definitely is, it’s already been reported Reinhart has been informed of the deal. The assumption has been that Florida hasn’t been able to get ahold of the players they’ve dealt. We’ve heard of Devon Levi already. Teponiemi has been reported to be the other piece. But then the guy who was wrong about there likely being no trades yesterday says it’s a veteran forward
  13. The literal next pick was traded.
  14. An entire room of people thought this was a good idea. Maybe we need more women in front offices.
  15. So it sounds pretty likely the deal is G Devon Levi, F Aleksi Heponiemi and a 2022 conditional 1st. That’s not a good return for the player Samson is, especially in division. Feels like Adams and Co rushed the hell out of this deal thinking they HAD to trade one of Samson or Jack before the end of draft night. Heponiemi is the most exciting part of this. The conditions on the Florida deal better be as simple as him playing for them period. If it’s lottery protected I’ll give it an eye roll because then you traded one of your best players for zero piece that “hurt.” Heponiemi should be in the lineup next season but I don’t know a ton about him other than nobody seems excited about him. EDIT: does NOT appear like Heponiemi is in the deal.
  16. He definitely does not watch.
  17. And he still ended up going in the 7th round. He has to be a throw in there’s no way he’s one of the two most important pieces to this trade.
  18. If we get Nikita Chibrikov at 32 I’ll be torqued. I still like the high reward possibility of Raty. Stankoven still feels like an NHL player.
  19. Friedman’s words and tone just now talking about Eichel and saying the price is still too high for teams makes it sound like Eichel is nowhere near being traded and never has been. He also said Eichel is frustrated which tells me Eichel might be the one driving this whole thing. If the team has interest in moving him they can’t ask for TOO much (yes, there is such a thing as too big of a demand).
  20. I love to see a kid’s PP rifle I don’t think Isak Rosen is reflective of other picks we’ve made recently
  21. There is a vast misunderstanding about what the word analytics means and how it applies to evaluating players. I don’t understand it fully either so we’re all in the same boat.
  22. You know what else would have went against consensus? Passing on Owen Power.
