They don’t really get much into it but say people around the league think Jones getting such a strong return should help the Sabres stand firm on their price.

Go to just before the 29 minute mark to hear Eichel stuff (ignore the 29:45 mark mentioned in the description - it’s wrong oddly). Or just read my notes! - Florida tried getting Eichel before moving to Reinhart. Nothing came close. - Montreal tried on Eichel on Friday but it’s unclear where things stand. - Minnesota does not appear to be in on Eichel right now because they’re not willing to pay the price. - The Rangers have apparently said Schneider and Nils Lundqvist are untouchable. (My note: stop talking to the Rangers, that’s ridiculous) - Calgary is involved and keeps circling back to see if they can find a match. - Seattle is not involved. - They both agree Seth Jones trade helped the Sabres.

That return is both not enough and not reflective of the direction this team is going in.

Nothing they’d be willing to give. Caufield is the only player I have interest in as a centerpiece and they won’t move him.

The Friedman stuff is from yesterday morning in reference to two days ago. The other guy I’ve never heard of and seems to be just saying a lot of junk. Nobody is getting that many specifics fed to them.

I don’t see any of this buzz aside from Eklund

I forget which poster pointed out the concern over the lottery protection being because we got burned on this recently which is definitely part of it. The same applies to Levi: a low draft pick that we’ve been told played above his draft position the year after they were drafted. Hudson Fasching. We traded good value for him and were told to be excited for it but in the end he ended up not being able to hold his own on NHL ice. I hope Levi pans out obviously but he doesn’t carry a lot of weight as a prospect in my opinion. He’s definitely trending in the right direction as you say, though. Bringing back Ullmark should be the next step at the position because while he’s not a prospect he’s still got developing to do and could end up proving to be a long-term starter. That would be a big piece to our puzzle and allow patience on the three guys in the system.

This is the most obvious ***** in the world. Take on the salary to make this happen and move on. You can flip the salary players for something later but at the end of the day when you trade Jack you’re going to need to add players to get to the cap floor anyways. Get this done, take Rask and Dumba. The Leafs/Sabres rumor comes from a tweet from John Buccigross just saying it SHOULD happen, right?

Jeanneret predicts that he will retire after next season.

Hopefully we can get something for him at the deadline -
He’s not even a top two most exciting goalie prospect in the pipeline right now. Ready for what? How much have you been drinking?
-
But also made clear he would like to trade him. Here’s the thread with quotes:

This boils down to: this had to be the absolute floor of what you get for Reinhart and you took it months before you needed to. Worse players get flipped for more at the deadline. Woof. Kevyn Adams is a kids hockey coach turned into a GM with no experience. This is the price you pay for being cheap in your hiring process.

Nobody but thankfully someone will be willing to offer a lottery protected first and a 24 year old defenseman with roughly a dozen NHL games under his belt and not real skills.
-
Please for the love of god make this trade now so we can all move on and ignore the team for a few years
