  1. Only one is right and the one is the one worn by the most players
  2. Ding ding. Still don't have number worn by the most players yet. 15 - worn by a current player 4 - worn by a current player 17 - worn by an outgoing UFA XX - worn by a current player (worn by most players in team history) XX - last worn in 2015 by a player who is not currently in the NHL 19 - worn by a player currently who goes up and down between Rochester (does NOT wear this number in Rochester)
  3. We have another winner. 15 - worn by a current player X - worn by a current player 17 - worn by an outgoing UFA XX - worn by a current player XX - last worn in 2015 by a player who is not currently in the NHL XX - worn by a player currently who goes up and down between Rochester (does NOT wear this number in Rochester)
  4. 21 is NOT one of them. 15 is. It's only the top six numbers worn by the most players in Sabres history. 21 is close but falls one short of making the list. I wanted to do top five but there's a tie at the end so I made it six. So far we have 15. This is NOT the number worn by the most players, though. Here are my clues: 15 - worn by a current player X - worn by a current player XX - worn by an outgoing UFA XX - worn by a current player XX - last worn in 2015 by a player who is not currently in the NHL XX - worn by a player currently who goes up and down between Rochester (does NOT wear this number in Rochester) Those are not in order but the number of x's is a hint.
  5. It is NOT 1. Only 8 players have worn 1. The number of players to wear the top six numbers are: 24, 22, 22, 21, 21 and 21. So 1 isn't even close. 5 is also NOT in there. Still only have three but I'm not naming which of the three mentioned were correct. The top one has not been named.
  6. Three of these are accurate. None of them are the most-worn number in Sabres history.
  7. Always have, always will (unless he does something stupid then I'm coming back to delete this post)
  8. Copying and pasting your beautiful template and placing my own picks. Buffalo Sabres record (and placement in overall league standings): 43-30-9 (95 points) Eastern Conference Standings Atlantic Divsion: 1.) Tampa Bay Lightning 2.) Florida Panthers 3.) Montreal Canadiens 4.) Buffalo Sabres (WC) 5.) Boston Bruins 6.) Detroit Red Wings 7.) Ottawa Senators 8.) Toronto Maple Leafs Metropolitan Division: 1.) Washington Capitals 2.) Pittsburgh Penguins 3.) New York Islanders 4.) New York Rangers (WC) 5.) Carolina Hurricanes 6.) Philadelphia Flyers 7.) New Jersey Devils 8.) 9. No Sabre has ever worn 87, 86, 85, 79, 75, 73, 70, 69, 68, 67, 66 or 62 in a regular season or post season game. Fun question: Which number has been worn by the most players in Sabres history? (it is currently worn) Another: Name the top six numbers with the most players in Sabres history? (three currently worn, one worn last year by UFA, another worn by current Amerk and BUF callup, the other worn in 2015)
  10. 24 of the last 30 World Series winners have had home-field advantage. I'd say that's a significant enough number to think it's important. The fact that an All-Star game where each team is required to have at least one representatives and average players get voted in based on popularity could decide a champion is absolutely ludicrous and everybody should have a pitchfork ready if they care about baseball in the slightest.
  11. Qwk's number one is the most important change posted yet
  12. Except the part where their All Star Game decides home-field advantage for the World Series which is nuckin futs.
  13. Seems like it will be. If Brooklyn is the comparable stadium to this one then T-Mobile blows it out of the water (which isn't hard because Barclays is a heaping mess).
  14. So after stopping at T-Mobile Arena this week for several events and talking to a bunch of people who either visit often or live in the area I think this city has a good start on the NHL. The arena itself is beautiful from the major roadways and in a GREAT spot on the strip (Excalibur and New York New York are both within five minutes of walking, MGM within eight and the strip is an easy walk overall anyways). No need to Uber your way to the arena unless you're staying on Fremont/other parts of Vegas (I don't know why you would, Fremont was such a waste of time). And the relaxation of sitting by a large sheet of ice will definitely be a popular play in Vegas. The inside of the arena has plenty of concessions and the seating is very comfortable (it's steep because they'll be hosting a ton of fights, too). Hard to judge the cleanliness and staff since these events weren't full-venue events. It'll take some time for the inside of the building to have some personality, though, as it's mostly just light silvers and pink (yes, a LOT of pink) right now as T-Mobile is the only sponsor. THe NHL is coming but you wouldn't know it as there isn't a single mention of it anywhere in the building. There are generic mentions of sports in there, but they whole inside is still basically just a T-Mobile advertisement. From what I could see of the clubs and suites they are going to be among the best in the league. Very unique look and angles for some of them. There is a balcony that hangs over the top level in each corner but I'm not sure if that'll be for people with tickets or crews, but the balconies give it a cool/unique look. I hope to be out there sometime and see a game. Definitely a good venue.
  15. I'm still down for whatever as long as I get to sit next to Liger and we get on the kiss cam.
  16. This one. Largely because I was there in the third row with a directly line of sight to his effort and the puck going in. This was the moment all doubt I had that he'd become great disappeared.
  17. You don't really have to meddle much if at all to get that done around these parts. ;)
  18. Fun topic while I have a second in Vegas... Old jerseys come back, white at home. Unretire all numbers except 39 and 11. Hasek's banner is black and red. Fire Rip and let players pick whatever number they want that isn't retired, taken or reserved. Choke Evander Kane. Bring the black and red jerseys back for an alternate for the 50th anniversary. Retire Ville Leino's jersey but buyout the company that makes the banners before it is complete and fold the business. Get Rick and Dom statues. And the Knox Brothers, begrudgingly since I own that now.
  19. I agree that we can't rush prospects which means literally nothing when it comes to evaluating who the best players for this team are. If Guhle looks ready and is a better player than Josh Gorges come October he'll be on the team. I hate this blanket term "rushing prospects." It seems so many assume there's an age requirement to prevent this when really everybody develops differently. I expect Guhle to go back to juniors, but it's no lock and language indicating it is is just a false claim of knowledge. There's absolutely a change Guhle makes the team just as there is a change Nelson does.
  20. I still think it wouldn't make sense to acquire Kulikov if you didn't plan on extending him. I'm assuming he will be extended and we'll protect four d. My four forwards would be: O'Reilly Okposo Girgensons Kane Ennis and Larsson are the only other two in consideration. I'm not wasting a spot on Foligno. This season could determine whether Ennis or Larsson replace Girgensons. For the first two seasons which is what many top free agents are getting just to guarantee they won't be in the expansion draft.
  21. Maybe. Nelson is likely fighting Franson (he's a righty).
  22. I am now feeling okay with what we have. Not because of impatience but because I'm much more confident in McCabe's growth and Kulikov's overall ability (especially if he's with a skilled Risto or a rugged Bogo). I think McCabe will be a top-four dman this year and long term. I think Kulikov is the same. Both are likely best as second-pairing dmen, but I think it's worth seeing Kulikov's growth if he gets top minutes. He was an all-situations defenseman in Florida and that was a damn good defensive team. This is all with the caveat that Kulikov has to be in the long-term plans for me to feel confident. It gives us: Kulikov - Risto McCabe - Bogo Gorges - Franson With Guhle fighting for Gorges' spot. That's a very slow bottom pairing but it's pretty clear around the league that your bottom pairing isn't going to be jacked up. If Vesey walks I probably prefer a deal for somebody like Rick Nash to add some definitive scoring.
  23. You're right. He flies all over. I can hear RJ now. "Pu is all over the ice tonight." (He also said this about the team during the tank)
  24. I love/hate you for this
  25. There a limit to performance bonuses that can be offered per team and Buffalo has likely already used them up on Reinhart/Eichel and a few others.
