There hasn't been a ton of BLM talk because it's not exclusively about them. If you haven't seen the discussions about race (hell, it spurred a very good discussion here) then you haven't been paying enough attention. There have been a TON of race discussion. Kaep's graphic has been on the screen because that's how sports networks can tie it all in, but they've brought in people they would never consider otherwise to discuss the issues. Colin Kaepernick was successful and continues to be without a sliver of doubt in my mind.

I see no reason to break up the Eichel line if you truly believe O'Reilly is only out a game or two. At least keep one of your lines intact to start the year.

Fans have a right to worry a little when their best player has a back problem and his coach says he's "several days away from taking a face off" and their prized offseason signing is out.

Except it has created a very large discussion. And a ton of other players have joined. It's been extremely effective and productive. Hardly horrible. Kaep's jersey sales have skyrocketed (all of which are going to a charity that promotes justice), the 49ers donated $1 million and other players are making donations. It hasn't just started a discussing, it has promoted action. Kaepernick gets two thumbs up here.

I'd rather neither be hurt to start the year and that's my point. Opening night is a bad time to miss. It'd be nice to have everybody ready to go from game one. Build chemistry and get off to a hot start. If their time off grows a little bit and the team struggles the first few games you're already in a hole. "Other teams will have injuries" doesn't do anything for me because we already have them and likely will down the road, too. I'm a little nervous about what the beginning of the year could look like if these injuries linger more than one game. Ennis - Larsson - Fasching is not an okay second line. It's not just "it's okay, they've played hockey before and can slide up." You can't just act like the injuries don't give a bad lineup for however long they last.

Asheville NC gets a high recommendation from me, as well. Beautiful area with some great breweries. Highland Brewing is A+ for anybody who finds themselves in the area. Sycamore in Charlotte is a good one, as well.

With Okposo and O'Reilly looking out for at least the first game we're likely looking at: Kane - Eichel - Reinhart Foligno - Larsson - Ennis Moulson - Girgensons - Fasching/Nylander Deslauriers - Grant - Gionta

I don't care what Liger said about not worrying. I'm very worried about the situation with this team to start the year. O'Reilly and Okposo both sound like they're not going to be starting the season. Risto's contract.
