  1. It's been 38 games now.
  2. In addition to being the youngest team in the NHL in terms of age, the Sabres are also the least experienced team in the NHL in terms of games played by 745 games less than Arizona and the only team with under 6,000 games played logged by their players: No surprise Washington and Boston are the two most experienced teams, with more than double the number of games the Sabres have played. Makes what the Sabres are doing even more impressive, IMO.
  3. What did Gus Johnson call it? Gettin' away from the cops speed? Not quite THAT fast, but pretty fast nonetheless...
  4. Especially if he moves his arm slightly and smaller opponents run face first into an elbow
  5. The Bills have had this pay off hugely under McDermott and Beane and been consistently one of the least injured teams in the NFL over that time in terms of man games lost to injury. By far and away the NFL leaders in that category over 5 years by at least 80 games on the 2nd place Rams and somewhere in the 400-500 game range over the most injured teams in that timeframe. Pretty remarkable. And as bad as they have had it from an injury standpoint this year, it still 12th best in the NFL this year, which shows just how frequently other teams experience injuries...what is a huge rash of injuries to us is still below average for many teams.
  6. I don't know why, I love what he brings to the team and it's not like has hasn't been productive with 5 assists so far. Good problem to have tho...and I think it may be more because he is a vet and Granato doesn't want to mess with the young players who have been finding their groove the last few games...much easier for Hino to sit out 3 or 4 games and come back in and pick up where he left off from than to disrupt the young guys who might find it much tougher to do that.
  7. Get a Biron and Emery duel going again with someone...
  8. Or maybe it could be said the Sabres simply needed a coach who could actually develop young talent to come along for him to succeed? Is there a single player that doesn't look light years better under Granato than any of the other coaches? That says a lot about both Granato and the other coaches.
  9. They are like Rasputin...they just won't die no matter how many people try to kill them.
  10. I think Lyubushkin...that dude has a lot of much needed nasty to his game the Sabres have lacked for quite some time. He seems like a player that would cross check his own Mother in front of the net if it meant preventing a goal, then keep her down on the ice and give her a few more shots for good measure when the ref turned their backs as the play went up ice.
  11. Out of the top 7 teams in the NHL so far in terms of points per game, we have played the toughest schedule so far according to the Bucholtz ranking(measures strength of past opponents). That has to count for something.
  12. I don't know if we are there yet, but they have been playing at the same pace now for almost half a season going back to March of last year, which is a 109 point pace through 37 games. Some will say you can't carry over from one year to the next but I think there was a very sharp demarcation in terms of this team finding their groove together once Tuch and Krebs got here and once Middlestadt and Samuelsson got healthy again. All I know is this team scores like crazy, they are fast, talented and exciting and can skate other teams into submission at times. The best part is they are the youngest team in the NHL and should only get better throughout the season. There will obviously be some ups and downs like there are with any team, and especially a very young team, but I am not sure how you watch the same thing for almost a half season now and still not at least think that something special could be happening right before our eyes even if it could be unexpected by many.
  13. The expected return date for him was this Friday according to the one site, so looking like that my be accurate? Joker's is next Tuesday...would be nice if both were right...
  14. Usually only happens if there is an injury or timeout. Or two minute warning.
  15. I think they have another back that did well for them with Taylor out so he likely will be starting...Deion something or other... Dolphins gave up assets and used a huge chunk of cap space for Chubb who has problems staying on the field. However that contract pales to the one the Broncos gave Russell Wilson who they also gave a lot more compensation to get than Miami did...at least Chubb has played well this year. Wilson has been a dumpster fire. Worse contract after giving up more compensation...
  16. Ehh...I dunno. If that team needs momentum that badly to score they probably aren't very good. If you haven't been watching the Bills the past 3 years I feel bad for you...one of the greatest offensive teams of the Modern Football Era and Josh Allen does jaw dropping things on a every game basis. Probably the most exciting time to be a Bills fan ever, even more so than the Super Bowl teams.
  17. From the one site that has dates on expected returns, Lyibushkin is expected back Friday and Joker next Tuesday. Samuelsson Nov 30th. How accurate that is, I am not sure but I guess we will find out.
  18. His metrics have been very very good for the most part even while not scoring
  19. Early Relaxation is a term used to describe scoring a goal to give your team the lead which is then followed by the other team scoring within 2 minutes after that goal. Sabres were second worst in the NHL last year at it, surrendering 18 such goals with only Arizona being worse at 19. This year they are among the best in the NHL, only allowing 1 such goal. A few teams haven't allowed any yet, but the Sabres only allowing one is a huge step in terms of maturity for this team and their mindset after scoring to take a lead...not being so excited that the next shift ends up with a goal in the back of your net from not paying attention or being in the proper mindset. Little things will lead to big things.
  20. Well...so far so good...we have played the toughest schedule of the top 7 teams in the NHL so far, measured by Buch.
  21. With the way this team scores ENG's, I am not sure anything is off the table. They not only get 1 most nights, they sometimes get 2. NHL leaders by a wide margin.
  22. Kulich looks like VO on the power play... https://mobile.twitter.com/Austin_Broad/status/1587949593685278725
  23. Granato clearly has the pulse of this team. Whatever he is doing just let him keep doing it and don't worry about it.
