Why won't the Pegulas put money into this team?
matter2003 replied to steveoat87's topic in The Aud Club
The NFL literally prints money and all of the players salaries are paid for with TV dollars. Bonuses are paid up front from the owner but almost all other play salary expenses are covered. That's why NFL teams have no issues spending. The NHL loses money for many teams. -
He tried to address it with Comrie who played extremely well last year and was 2nd in the NHL at goals allowed under expected only behind Sheshterkin. He played great his first game, then got hurt long term came back briefly and got hurt again long term and never really found his form all year. There was no reason to believe that Comrie would go from really really good to abysmal, so I can't really fault him for that one. Other than the past 2 games, Anderson has played very very well. He was 7th in the NHL in save percentage before those. Outside of a 5-6 game stretch with UPL and a couple games with Comrie those two have been abysmal.
-
Not exactly true. Up until the last two games, Anderson was 7th in the NHL in save percentage. The issue simply is that he can't play enough games at his age. But the other two, outside of a 5 or 6 game run by UPL, for sure. Typically you don't replace people who have gotten you to elite status after 17 years with no playoffs.

Crumpled it up into a giant ball, threw it in the trash can and lit it on fire. I don't care who is hurt for them and who isn't playing, blah blah blah...there is no excuse for getting your barn doors blown off every other game for the last month with increasing frequency. Adams has a lot to do this off-season because if he is thinking in house growth is going to fix all the problems on this team next year he is going to be in for a very rude awakening. Last year, I didn't want the season to end, this year after the last month I can't wait for it to end. At least I won't have to get alerts on my watch and see them down 4-0 10 minutes into the first period anymore. They talk about wanting to earn fans back into the building, well they have a real funny way of showing it putting this garbage on ice in front of them. They can f**k off right now as far as I am concerned. I'm done with them this year.

What a joke...they have given up. -
Yes! My first GDT! The NHL leading Big Bad Bruins are coming to town and that is likely not a good thing for the Sabres as they try and keep themselves relevant in the playoffs race. 3 games so far are final. All of them ended 5-2.
-
The Flyers are trash dude. Trash. The Sabres should not be losing to this joke of a team.
-
5 periods against the Flyers and 8-0 is the score. Inexcusably bad to the 2nd worst team in the NHL
-
This team is fvcking trash.
-
I have no idea why they have so much trouble with this trash ass Flyers team but they have outsckres the Sabres 5-0 over the last 4 periods of play.
-
Penalty killing killing the Sabres as usual.
-
HELL TO THE YES!!!

I grew up on the East Side of Buffalo a few blocks from the Langfield Projects...I've seen quite a lot worse live in front of my face.

Why do our goalies always suck at the shootouts?? Inexcusable loss. -
I don't consider that "disturbing". Disturbing to me would be if he pushed it down the stairs with someone in it. That would be pretty disturbing. This is simply some young, immature kid doing something stupid that he will look back on 5 years from now and think "What the hell was I doing??"

Wild game...Caps scored 2 goals in the final minute of the first 8 seconds apart to take a 3-1 lead into the intermission, then scored with 5 seconds left in the 2nd to take a 4-3 lead into the intermission. Kotalik then scored with 1:43 left in the 3rd to give the Sabres their first lead and Afinigenov said I'll do you one better and scored with 1 second left in the game to ice a 6-4 Sabres win. -
Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?
matter2003 replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
They want to make it a dramatic, last day of the season, watch an OT game for the Isles after they play in the dressing room to see them lose and get in the playoffs that way like the Bills did... -

Let's get it...beat the Caps twice already and they may be without Ovi... @bob_sauve28 why do you have news from like 2005-06 in the story? 😂 -
The problem is the Sabres play really well when chasing teams and not so well once they catch them. Happened 3 or 4 times now and they can never seem to put it together once they actually have caught up and are in a position to leapfrog them.
-
It means if we win our 3 games in hand and beat the Isles in regulation we will have a 3 point lead on the Isles everything else being equal. Obviously we still have to play well in the other numerous games but all in all we are in about as good of a spot as we could have hoped for after how last week went with us and with the other teams
-
We do control our own destiny, with some cushion actually. 3 games in hand on Isles and we play them once more. Yesterday went perfect for the Sabres. Isles, Pens, Sens, Caps and Red Wings all lost and all lost in regulation.
-
It never froze all year...an extremely warm January and warmer than average February turned a lot of the snow we would have gotten in those months into almost all rain events or we could be sitting at over 200" now.

Every team loses players to injury. If it derails you that badly, you aren't ready for primetime. -
Buffalo is running away with the National Golden Snow Globe Award(snowiest US city with over 100K population) and going to almost assuredly win back to back titles. Up to over 132 inches as of today and still snowing although not much more is expected.
