  1. What was Sheehan doing on that goal? Made about five bizarre / bad plays
  2. Hall with a giveaway in the defensive zone and icing it. Nice
  3. Wave Eakin and send him there instead
  4. Does Jack still Play for the Sabres? I have never known so little information to be provided about a teams star player when they’re injured. As far as I know, we don’t know his injury, the timeline or his return, his thoughts on the coaching change, comments on player development etc. We know nothing - it’s like he has just taken off to live in a cabin in the woods to get away from it all. Has he played his last game as a Sabre?
  5. I think we probably get destroyed and Hall remembers how to score / pass. However, I would seriously love it if we beat the Bruins 6 times in the remaining schedule and put them out of the playoffs. If I were a Sabre that would be my objective.
  6. I don’t really understand people’s anger. Hall basically said he would only waive for one team. That team knew it, and is also sitting on the bubble, so didn’t want to go all in. They offered a third knowing it was take the third or get nothing. They then got slammed by the caps and made it a second. Yes, this happened because of the NMC. But you have to give those out. Buffalo isn’t seen as the best place to play. As a result the players have the power. Someone probably takes a discount and no trade protection to play for TB, as they think winning the cup is worth it. Whereas the Sabres are realistically 2 years minimum from making the playoffs again. Therefore in order to attract the best talent you have to show you are a good place for players to be - that you will respect and help them in their careers. Yeah it sucks. But that’s the cost when you haven’t made the playoffs in 10 years and have a dismal future for the next season.
  7. Mantha got a better return than ROR
  8. Bennet is not a rental - he is an RFA. Also he didn't limit the Flames to a single team to be traded to. Plus he is seen as a good playoff performer.
  9. And Hall was keen to go to Boston once he found out they were interested
  10. Weird thing to say when you are part of the team that creatively lost...
  11. Paul Hamilton @pham1717 · 35m Kypreos also said he heard the offer from the Bruins for Hall was a third round pick until they lost big to Washington.
  12. And yet Colorado traded for a goalie to make JJ third string.
  13. My disappointment with this trade is that Lazar is straight up better than a joke. In points. In energy. In skill set for a bottom six forward. In contract. And is only a year older That means we got less than a second for Hall. I understand Adams didn’t turn down better offers, but when Foligno gets a first and fourth, and we get a second for a historically better player who is historically under achieving this year and still statistically better than Foligno - that’s disappointing. And for people decrying people complaining about the anger that a JAG fourth liner was traded - poor asset management is why we are we’re we are. And if you poorly manage part of your roster, you poorly manage it all.
  14. If you're taking on nearly $6 million for over 2 years you get at least a first
  15. Did they not do away with the compensation thing?
  16. Why would a team 13 points out of the playoffs and last in their division trade for the big name UFA at the deadline? Am I missing something?
  17. I think we should All prepare to be underwhelmed, then the disappointment can’t hurt. Hall (50% salary retained) for a low 2nd round pick
  18. Do you think Linus walks to FA? He seems to have become a legitimate starter.
  19. Because possession is more important in 3 on 3
  20. If the rumours are all true, Rutherfords primary benefit to the Sabres would be as a big enough name to only agree to join if the Pegulas keep their hands out. Once he has achieved the space needed, he should put his feet up and relax - simply be on hand to bounce ideas about etc
  21. My fantasy is all the NHL owners are due to go in for a meeting. Pegula goes to walk in the door and one of the other owners turns to him and says ‘sorry, this is a meeting for people who own NHL clubs’ and all the other owners laugh at him. This humiliation humbles him and sparks him to do whatever it takes to win the Stanley cup, including getting his grubby mitts out of the pie, just to avenge his derision.
  22. The Pegulas did it to save money, and the irony is that this has and will continue to cost them far more as a result
