  1. I am happy to trade any guy if the price is right. However, Myers price is high. I think he breaks out next season. He is still a young guy and has been maturing whilst asked to shoulder the workload with Ehrhoff. He will do well this season - if we trade him i bet we end up kicking ourselves
  2. He said he had no idea about a blockbuster trade, but thinks there must be one happening due to lack of commitment from other GMs. Trading for Spezza os definitely a blockbuster trade; so i doubt he is trading for him
  3. I like how honest he is. Weird there is this damn on the trades
  4. I'm gonna miss the draft (rehearsal for a wedding tomorrow) and because I am in San Jose I can't even get 3G on my phone. This evening is going to be a busy one... It will be a shame to miss the trades and picks as they happen. I want a Sam, I just can't decide which one. Hopefully we use this draft, not just the picks, to really establish ourselves for the future

  6. Hodgson for Kassian is the last one I believe
  7. People might remember this style rink from last year - well here is the 2014 one. It is great and also features the Sabres twice http://i.imgur.com/lIBv77O.jpg
  8. Is the draft 7pm EST 27th June?
  9. You are. LITR doesn't count against the cup regardless of players age. The over 35 rule meant that even if he retired (which was clearly the plan) his cap hit would count. So now they have him parked on LITR and when his contract ends he 'retires' - thus never having to swallow the 5 million hit
  10. It really annoys me that the league lets this happen.
  11. Every fan-base is known for demanding certain things: The Bruins demand physical hockey from their team every year The Rangers demand big name players in their team every year The Canadiens demand French-speaking coaches in their team every year The Sabres demand our top point scorer be traded every year There's always a Lighthouse, there's always a man, there's always a city.
  12. Or he just knew what the question asker was actually asking? Occam's razor
  13. Can I see the link you are referencing/
  14. He's probably sick of Chicago's night life and girls by now. TBH I don't think it will be just him. I expect Buffalo to get a large influx of mid-twenty year olds in 2015. Rumours are flying around Buffalo, not New York, LA or Chicago, is the place to be in America
  15. You spend a lot of time on the road. Party in those cities, settle down in Buffalo. Best of both worlds. Plus it's cheap
  16. This team has too many early 20s players. If we are going to compete it si vital we bring in more teenagers
  17. Probably knows we aren't in a position to be interested. We have made it clear what we intend to do. Why waste a slot? I think we are the only team who is so openly tanking - florida and edmonton just suck every year, but it isn't through lack of trying
  18. Lots of players do well before Buffalo. Suck here. Then sign a cheap 1 year deal and do ok e.g. Boyes I wouldn't be shocked if the same thing happened again. His agent will blame Buffalo for everything
  19. Edmonton as well? 9/10
  20. Honestly, I think Buffalo's biggest problems are not its city. Why would a free agent want to sign with a club that is not competing or with a club that won't commit assets to win when it is competing? I agree this would be good for it though - at the very least wouldn't hurt. However, prospects have no choice on where they go (plus we have 7 years to change their first impression). Free agents generally go for the money or at a slight discount for a cup-chance. Neither of which we have really supplied in years
  21. The upcoming season is the last season Alexi Yashin will be paid by the Islanders - his contract will end 8 years after he left the league
  22. Nope. I'm right with you. Or at least not far behind :P It's just a case of grass is greener. Zad or Risto haven't had to carry a team at the pro level yet, so no-one can see flaws Hell, most people prefer Zad over Risto, despite most scouts thinking Risto is a league or two above Zads
  23. In my mind the owner is the owner. It is his toy. If wants to screw it up, it is his right. If I was an owner I would sure as hell want to feel I was having an input - e.g. what do you think about signing this player, would they fit in? There is no way in hell i would spend $50 million dollars a year (i.e. net loss of $50 million), just to get a slightly better seat in the arena or shake a few more players hands. Although I wouldn't like it, if the owner did order a GM to sign/trade a player I couldn't complain. He is the one paying these guys. If I don't like the team/attitude I won't pay for stuff - if enough people do it then I'm sure empty arenas and bank accounts is a quick way to get an owner to change their strategy Anything involving money, be it player salaries, gym equipment repair or hot dog prices is a business decision. It may also be a hockey decision - the two aren't mutually exclusive.
  24. Glad the Swiss won in the end. The disallowed goal was a good goal. Awesome tackle to save the game followed by a quick counter to win
