That depends. If he is asking for more than 8 million per, this is a wise decision. No one will offer more than 7.3, thus bringing his price down. Plus it might humble him a bit if he has to sign for less than he wanted because no one thought he was worth what he wanted

Yes. They had to pull out because they were told of this incident. If anything it helps them. Everyone knows it was a bad contract and this is mighty convient for them. But trying to trade him shows they were seeking legitimate ways to remove him and he torpedoed these attempts

Sorry I completely ignored our 2015 hit. Oops For the years when the contract would actually be in effect, the hit is worked out as the difference between the average cap hit for the buyout and the actual amount the player would have earnt. As the last year of CoHos salary was to be the most, ie above the average for the contract, we actually get credit. The reaming four years are just the average cap hit of the buyout. I think this is roughly right, anyway

I think Moulson gets paired with Reinhart for the season. He played with Jonny T a ton, so has experience playing with that kind of player. I think Eichel plays with Kane/ROR/Ennis. I wouldn't be surprised if Reinhart got paired with Gionta too.
