Again, classic Rondo sure. But he's a shell of that. He hasn't been at his career average PER since 2015-16. His strengths have diminished without his weaknesses improving. Anywho, at least we agree that LeBron is better than Jordan.

That's fair on the cap implications. But I disagree on Rondo. Boston Rondo would have been good, but he still can't shoot and his defense isn't anywhere near what it was. Just a really bad fit for LeBron.

Murray had his teams in such a bad place that they were better than the teams Botterill has iced. Edit: And for the record, I was no Murray lover by the end. But in a results-oriented business, his results were better than Botterill's have been.

I'm not sure they do. They had a ton of flexibility last year after LeBron signed and decided to acquire...Rajon Rondo and Lance Stephenson. Then this year they almost completely botched the Davis trade and were only saved by him voiding his trade kicker. I think they're pretty incompetent and basically need moron-proof signings or they'll get it wrong.

It's not crazy to think Turris could have a few good years left in a better situation, but yea, he's at the point where the good-but-not-great players usually feel the aging curve. If Nashville retains 50% and we get him for nothing, I'd consider it if we strike out on every other option. But if any of those conditions aren't met, I wouldn't touch him.

I honestly don't understand why Bergevin thought such a low AAV would work. High AAV and thus higher bonuses was the only way it had a chance.
