QBs are hard to predict, yet not hard to predict. Their hit rate beyond the 2nd round is dramatically lower than other positions. Scouts aren't good at identifying the good ones, but are seemingly very good at identifying the bad ones.
-
Drafting Murray or Mettenberger would make us less desperate? Are either of them even on an NFL roster? I mean c'mon man. For every Prescott there's 100 useless players. Meanwhile, useful position players go in the middle rounds regularly. It boggles my mind how any Buffalo sports fan can give a single about the sports gods
-
Of course that bounced in. Of course.
-
We didn't have to draft him, but we had to draft somebody that year. And as it turns out, they all sucked.
-
History repeats itself. A few years ago, we handed Fitz an extension because we had to. He predictably flopped, causing us to have to draft a QB in a horrible QB draft. Looks like it may be happening again. PLEASE let Dallas move on from Romo.

Nice no call on the late hit.
-
Now Powell limping. I'm actually not joking: are we in danger of not being able to field a full offense? Not a banner couple of games for Eric Wood.
-
Not at all. Good players get hurt all the time. If Rex is bad because his team takes penalties, then good teams and coaches should not get penalized. But year after year we see no correlation between wins and penalties taken. It's a bunk criticism.
-
I'm not arguing he's great, I'm arguing certain criticisms are bunk. Seriously, that sequence for NE was as bad as anything the Bills have put out this year. Doesn't mean Belichick sucks. It happens.
-
Bad players being more prone to injury is not the same thing as saying good players rarely get hurt.
-
Penalty. Open wheel route. Penalty. Defensive timeout. Genius!
-
Well that's just not true. I guess the Pats should fire Belichick. He just can't coach them to stop taking penalties.
-
Why can't one of our sacks dislocate Brady's shoulder?
-
Yay for more ticky tack holds. Rex's fault Clay just hurt his shoulder.
-
Rex's fault, obviously. Also his fault every single offensive weapon is hurt. And his fault it's raining. Probably also his fault Jack sprained his ankle.
-
Defense came to play today, at least.
-
Now Gillislee gimpy? I mean, what can ya do other than laugh?
-
Looks like Alexander's hammy. Lovely.

*points in the offense's direction*

I'm about 95% certain that one of those safeties was supposed to be giving help over the top. But there's no doubt he's been subpar this season.

Good man

What myself and others are trying to say is those outcomes aren't independent of Bylsma's system, but rather occur because of it. On the passing front, the reliance on hail mary stretch passes for breakouts and movement through the neutral zone causes our players to force a bunch of low percentage stuff that of course isn't going to connect regularly. I missed yesterday's game, but from what everyone has said, there was a focus on carrying the puck through the neutral zone as a team with shorter, higher percentage passes. Lo and behold, the teams ended up even in possession.

Afternoon games are the bane of my existence. Probably missing the first period, maybe two. -

What ails the Ducks? They hired Randy Carlyle.
