A visit to Breitbart isn't enough for you? I'll find some specific stuff this evening if you insist beyond the organizations Eleven cited.

It's time to dump some bad players if possible

Well, Bogosian isn't a good 2/3, he's a bad 2/3. If Bogosian is your second or third best Dman, you're not a contender. -
I hope you're right, but I have a real problem thinking Bylsma will be fired less than two years into a five year contract.

And here's the problem with what Trump could mean to our institutions: normalization of things that we as a society discredited decades ago. Now the response to outrageous things is stuff like "not surprising" with little other reaction. We should never stop being surprised, and we should never accept an anti-semitic white nationalist as possibly the most powerful person in a presidential administration. But here we are. BTW, I don't mean this to single you out or anything, nor do I mean to imply you have no other reaction, it was just the impetus to set me off :)

There has to be a point where everyone across the political spectrum can draw a line, no? If an anti-semitic white supremacist who peddles the worst kind of conspiracy being appointed to be one of the two most powerful men in a presidential administration isn't that line, what is? As to Congress, I think going back to their district/state is in fact important work.

Unfortunately, despite bringing The Bunker to Sabrespace...I have also watched Casey Nelson play hockey  I'm 100% in favor of getting rid of Bogo, but I can't see a viable replacement happening mid-season. -

But for what return? -
Dude, it was a one time mistake. Chill out.

I don't know why anyone would be upset...personally, I'm celebrating your gradual descent to the toilet :P

Trump over-performed in the group relative to his polling, but still under-performed what Romney had (Romney had 52%, Trump 45%). That said, if you're looking for a "shy Trump" vote, that group isn't a bad bet on where it was. Though I strongly caution reading too much into exact percentages from exit polls--I'm personally waiting for the ANES results, which is the gold standard for political behavior research.

That one is probably going to change...and it should. Presidents need vacations, and it's not like presidential vacations are time off from the serious stuff, they really just replace the ceremonial things with leisure time.
-
I'm leaning towards the latter, but to be fair, that team had a healthy O'Reilly, Kulikov, and yes, Bogosian.

Trump giveth (hope): Reince Priebus chosen as Chief of Staff And Trump taketh (hope) away: Steve Bannon named chief strategist and senior counselor

Reportedly, the Cowboys are sticking with Dak. Gimme Romo for next season please.

In order to avoid breaking the profanity filter, let's just say I find him loathsome. Whether it's the EC or the popular vote, he always claims to be right as long as his candidate wins something . He's the qualitative equivalent of the Reader's Digest polls of yore. Pseudoscientific drivel. Probably the worst part about this election for me personally is he's not going to go away.

I define meaningful as flipping a chamber. Almost impossible for the House given the midterm electorate and how many seats they'd have to capture, and in the Senate the Dems have to defend 10 seats in states won by Trump, including places like WV where he won by 40. Hard to see a good chance at netting enough to change majority control.
-
Political participation and interest are so pitifully low outside of elections that I can't bring myself to complain about people being involved. But I do hope that Dem leadership is evaluating things much more deeply than the rank and file seem to be. Either way, with how the map looks, meaningful political gain for the Party in 2018 seems like a pipe dream, barring significant political overreach by the GOP (and judging from the plan for the first 100 days, this is very much in play).

I couldn't imagine subjecting Americans to a second presidential election a month after the first. I think there's a very good chance turnout would crash in one or the other, and we wouldn't end up with a more representative choice either way. I still think the most elegant solution is rank-order voting. For anyone unfamiliar, rather than voting for one candidate, you rank them in order of preference. If your first choice isn't one of the top two, then your vote goes to your second choice, and so on. Thresholds can be set for your first choice counting even if it's not top-two, but it doesn't make much sense in a system of winner take all elections. Such a system would eliminate any incentive for strategic voting, allowing voters to express their true preferences, and would have the side benefit of nuking lame post-election talking points like "X cost Y the election, third party voters suck". It also has the advantage of not requiring a constitutional amendment (not that a 50-state effort would be anything less than a herculean task). Maybe it wouldn't outright prevent a popular-EC vote split, but I think it reduces the chances, and solves issues I think are more important than popular-EC vote splits anyway. For sure. Proportional assignment of EC votes would be a big help, but working through the technical details of doing so would be a political nightmare.

My guess is the Sabres' complete lack of entertainment value finally broke him. I hope so, anyway, and that he comes back when they're more fun. Permanently losing him would be sad.

Angry Flagg is fun Flagg. Don't worry, we'll have a big group hug at the Leafs game in spring.

The fact we're sitting here saying Moulson had a nice game says everything that has to be said about the state of this team. -

Moulson is goddamn awful. The fact he got his first even strength goal of the decade while down 4-1 doesn't change that. -

Pretty sure he could coach this team more effectively than Bylsma. -
Back up to 1335. I suppose the one positive of us being terrible is I'll be able to make up easy money just betting against.
