  1. Excellent. Now that that's out of the way, we can move on to bigger and better things...like panicking over Mittelstadt leaving as a UFA. (We all know it's coming from someone, somewhere, and sooner than later)
  2. Dudacek's irrational paranoia over a Reinhart trade just went to Defcon 1 :p
  3. I'd have taken Vilardi, but I also really like Mittelstadt. Good pick.
  4. ...is Mittelstadt graying already? Or is that just super blonde hair?
  5. At the very least, you know he's congratulating the Pens.
  6. Welp. If I'm GM, I think I pick Vilardi. Can't believe he's available.
  7. I think they have to go C here.
  8. Mittelstadt, Glass, or Vilardi will be there for us....I like Liljegren, but man, Pettersson going early made it tougher.
  9. Dear Jim Benning: Please be yourself (see: incompetent) and take Rasmussen. Thanks.
  10. I hate you.
  11. Nobody at the top of the NHL draft traded down? I'm shocked. Shocked, I say.
  12. The vocal minority seemingly gets success disproportionate to its power, so I'll take it
  13.
  14. Maybe seeing Kane on Reinhart's wing for an extended period of time will convince me he's worth what I think he's seeking :)
  15. At least as it stands, Kane. O'Reilly-Okposo Eichel-Nylander (F the haters!) Reinhart-Kane That's my skeleton. Move around whatever as needed. I don't think the 3rd player on any of those lines has to be especially special. Shop the bargain UFA bin for the Lee Stempniaks of the world.
  16. Literally cannot say this any better myself: https://twitter.com/DTMAboutHeart/status/878356853410766848
  17. If I could remove the notion that all skill players need to be crammed into a top-6 from everybody's brain and throw it into the abyss, I would. We have three centers. Why not run three centers?
  18. The first step is admitting you have a problem :) Kane + 8 for Hanifin? There's no F'n way Kane does it without a sizeable add.
  19. You're also confusing former/latter. Anyway, the point wasn't to compare Reinhart to Anisimov directly, nor Kane to Hanifin directly--it was to compare the value of winger + center to center + Dman. One can like Reinhart more than Anisimov while also thinking the gain from Hanifin over Kane is enough to tilt it in the other direction. I think it's an interesting question.
  20. You're missing an entire half of that equation.
  21. To be fair, I think there reporting our interest in him more than his interest in us.
  22. Maybe we should put a poll up, but I get the distinct impression the "keep Kane" (even for just the season) crowd is much larger than the "trade him now for futures" group.
  23. If the value he has right now is truly ass, I'm not wholly opposed to this. My main thing is I don't want to invest a big long term contract in him; thus, I'd like to get some value. If I can only get a 2nd and 3rd, I don't deal him now. Probably bite on a 1st and prospect, though. On that note, with reports that Minnesota wants a 1st in any Scandella deal, maybe we could chain trade this. Flip Kane for a 1st + prospect, then use that 1st and ____ for Scandella.
  24. If his value right now is a 2nd and B-prospect, that's probably his value at the trade deadline, right? Though a player's value is usually highest right now, I'm not sure that holds for Kane. We could try to make a run and still get value if we fall short, or even if we're on the bubble (for instance, maybe Nylander is ready in spring) without sacrificing the run. Though I'm fairly certain trading Kane if we're on the bubble would cause a board crash
