If he was at 3:50 of ice time instead of 4:15 of ice time he wouldn't have made that decision - just needs a reduced role -

Ullmark's a road victory in a hostile environment away from scaling up to 50/50 ice time IMO -

Yes!! Love E-Rod. Those two two-on-ones were so beautifully symmetric. -
I'm not mad at anyone haha. I just find going in directions like that (Jack being probably a stupid bigot because he's an athlete and if you're an athlete you're a meathead type of thing), especially when talking about a now-adult person's years during which any of us were admittedly some degree of awful/cringey/ignorant, counterproductive, and I think it sniffs of the very thing the broader conversation topic correctly views as horrible and unfortunate behavior that's hopefully becoming less prevalent as society moves forward.

A couple things about this: I was still wrong because even if he regresses to his normal shooting percentage, he will DOUBLE his goal production on the season from last full season. This shooting percentage discussion gets used far too much, and isn't really an accurate representation of how things work. It is not that people shoot 10% on average over 10, 20, 40, and then full season long lengths, and then every once in a blue moon have times where they way out-perform or way under-perform and will soon be back to normal. In reality, players shoot all over the place and wildly vary in having high and low shooting percentages over stretches as large as 2 seasons. That's what careers are made up of. Domi's 10% career percentage also includes unsustainably LOW stretches, so that measure itself isn't completely reliable to use. Every single player in the league will have several seasons well above average shooting percentages to contribute to their most productive seasons, and that is just how things work. Those seasons will change their "career percentages" accordingly. Year to year fluctuations of as much as 33% are EXPECTED, and any year, even the average ones, will have stretches of 15 games and 30% followed by 15 games at 4% within them, and even with that, Domi will wind up more-than doubling his goal totals. -

Also I was sooo wrong about Domi, who has tied last season's 82 game goal output (and that of 59 games the season before) in 15 games. -
I'm so angry about unfair, broad, sweeping generalizations and their negative effects that I'm going to make broad, sweeping generalizations and assume this individual that falls under the group retains those characteristics

This isn't a huge complaint, but with the theme of maximizing your most important roster pieces, I'd like to see Sobotka, whose struggles are well-documented, on a line other than Sam/Erod's. It's more important for this team for Sam to be scoring (which likely won't happen sustainably with Vlad) than it is to bring Vlad up to meh from mediocre/bad. -
I haven't heard that word said out loud since I graduated high school and the world is better for it.

Was our last win in MTL the time that Lehner made that ridiculous save in OT after Price made the ridiculous save with a minute left in the third, and then Bogosian smoked one by Price in OT? -

It's going to be a tough game, but it's about time this team gets a win and starts a nice little 5 game stretch. -

I'm sure that took 20 takes, but I'm still impressed. -
I'm glad that it's not serious and that he won't be playing in Buffalo ?

We have to plan another meetup for the next time you're able to get over here in Buffalo. Maybe that's what this next one is? If not make sure you keep SS updated!

The Sabres, honest to goodness, have decent underlying metrics. I think we've rejoined the NHL and just have the normal roster issues to deal with like everyone else, there's no longer a "we need to find a way to be playing competitive NHL hockey" thing going on.
-
That ain't Tage. And St. Louis has top 5 depth scoring in the league (and a 1C pacing for 120 points) by the calculation I did a week or so ago (ROR, Perron, and Bozak are upgrades to Berglund, Sobotka, Thompson by any measure on the planet, and Fabbri is back). But Jake Allen has allowed fewer than 3 goals in a game exactly once through 5-5.5 weeks of hockey, and Petro/Bouwmeester have been playing like bottom pairing D/AHL D respectively.
-
Good stuff. They gonna win that division?
-
You're not alone on the ROR train, but it is best to move on for sure. Though you're still allowed to call out people if they say ridiculous things since I can't hold myself to the standard of not doing that ? And that's not the Connolly extrapolation method - Jack has his points. Calling him a 60 point player in reference to his contract is more obscuring about the situation than calling him a near-PPG player before the contract kicks in, especially because the injuries were of fluke nature - no hockey player in either situation doesn't walk out missing fewer than 20 games with a high ankle sprain. Jack has 130 games of ~130 points that you can't take away since his rookie year, even if you can't "technically" say he "has hit" 80 points in a discrete NHL season.
-
Has he had good games since the Bills played them? Really rooting for him - that knee injury was so unfair and he and Hopkins are such a good duo What's going to be annoying is watching their backup McCown, a completely reasonable vet backup, face off against Nate f*cking Peterman.

Hell yeah!
