UPDATE: Sam Reinhart signs 2-year extension -- $3.65MM per year
Randall Flagg replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Sure, but your "guy that's not really going to be the guy" not being Ron Francis and rather just being a good player is a lot different than a guy that's supposed to be "the guy" not being "the guy." If we drafted a defenseman at 7OA in 2015, then I'd bet people are a lot harder on Sam than they are now -
UPDATE: Sam Reinhart signs 2-year extension -- $3.65MM per year

I bet a lot of this is that even though we were happy to be picking second, even at the time it was alllllllllllllll about the 2015 draft for most of us. Sam was always going to be "the guy behind the guy we draft next year." Whereas that guy, Eichel, had his captaincy declared a failure in game 3 of this season by some Sabres fans on this board, literally So I think the patience is inversely related to the expectations people had for each player from the beginning. -
Yeah, everything about the bottom nine doesn't make sense. Removing the boardwork abilites from line 2 to put a guy who's been useless away from Jack there submarines it, followed by a combination on the fourth line that history has shown will turn it from a 60% puck possession line to a 20% puck possession line, and a whole lot of bleh from line 3. In fact, it make so little sense that I fully expect a 6-2 beatdown in which Jack's line scores zero of our six goals.

You'd expect 3 games in 10 days to have your lineup healing, especially since we haven't played in 4 and we come out of that with the worst/most-injured lineup with the season so far. How does the injury situation get worse when we haven't even played I'm still really frustrated that we don't know why McCabe was upgraded, and Scandella is still out, these guys were slated to be back a week ago.

Our bottom 9 is uuuuuuuuugly today, assuming lines are the same as yesterday. They've gone 3 games without getting a goal while any of the bottom 9 forwards are on the ice. Will it be 4? And Zemgus on a defensive line >> Pominville on any non-Eichel-Skinner line or Vlad on any line or Tage on a defensive line

One time we were flying back on a family vacation, and got delayed in Baltimore on a layover. We waited in the airport until the flight was canceled...at 11pm. We started the drive home to WNY at 12:30am. That was an...unpleasant night.

The official that Hughes was heated at after the game has been placed on "administrative leave" while the league investigates. Jerry Hughes is not being suspended. According to Eric Wood in the Athletic, it's the same umpire that was suspended for calling a player the n-word. So I'm inclined to believe Jerry that he was called a b-word, and the league agrees. Good on the NFL for getting this right so far. (besides not tossing the guy for calling a player the n-word??) And good on Jerry for reigning in his unsportsmanlike penalties, though I still think the reputation from 2+ years ago harms him - I've never seen a player get held like Jerry does.
