  1. It seems that the bar for intentional grounding is all of the current rules PLUS being 30 years old or younger. We're one Barkley touch away from this game being in a dangerous spot. I hate that they have completely stalled.
  2. My god we suck with the lead And Cody Ford is awful at tackle
  3. Why was Allen's play IG but Eli's not? That ball didn't get back to the LOS either?
  4. Way too early to take our foot off the gas. Barkley can and will have his way if we keep giving them the ball without scoring.
  5. Yeah. I hope they don't get conservative in the second half. At least until it's a 4 score game. But McD likes to eke these things out.
  6. Gotta stop being stupid. Can't let them back into this. Our special teams unit is simply bad again.
  7. Wow Hyde. Go get another TD. WTF was that play...
  8. Him and Sweeney have pleasantly surprised me to this point. We might not even need Kroft haha. Vinateiri is done, that's kinda sad.
  9. It's like watching a college secondary. Like, a bad college versus OU QBs Just keep the pedal to the floor Bills! Does Allen have 200 yards through the 2nd quarter?
  10. It helps that Morse can pull like that....we have a good center. I pray he can stay healthy!
  11. Beautiful blocking
  12. Even when stopped for no gain, Barkley made two guys completely whiff. We need to find a punter that can kick like that consistently. And we need to stop using one of our best defensive players as a return man
  13. Man Barkley is special. We need to find a way to get up so they feel pressured to pass more.
  14. Let's effin go Bills!
  15. I mean, he's not wrong that the Sabres have been an astounding amount of orders of magnitude worse under Terry, who allowed the tank decision to be made, which drove how bad we were for a majority of that time I'm grateful for the Pegulas for the stability they've brought both teams in regards to their standing in Buffalo, particularly the Bills. But their hockey hirings and decisions are allowed to be heavily criticized and one single witty, well-thought-out poster doing so every couple of months should be easy enough for people to stomach better than they do.
  16. Jesus...McAvoy is substantially better than Werenski
  17. Not sure if this was posted somewhere, but Tage put in work: https://buffalonews.com/2019/09/14/buffalo-sabres-tage-thompson-pete-pulaski-conor-shear-nhl-news-2019/?utm_campaign=lysowski&utm_medium=social&utm_source=Twitter He ate 3-5 thousand calories a day, increased his weight by 13 pounds, and lost 1% of body fat while doing it. Interested to see what that looks like on the ice.
  18. What do you think the odds are for each of Scandella and Sobotka to legitimately earn top six/top twelve spots this camp? I have them at about 5% and 0% - Sobotka was not a top twelve forward on the team last year, and we added more forwards and only lost Jason, and now Olofsson is a thing this year, and he has a now-steady trajectory that is going on 3 years. And Scandella was legitimately horrifying for the duration of last season, and now Miller is here, though injuries give him a bit more of a chance. The thing that worries me is that every coach in the world preaches accountability, but every one we've seen recently has eschewed it to some degree more than they should for players that once could play but now hurt the team. And I think the chances that Sobotka/Scandy are not deserving of a roster spot, but get one anyway, are high enough that it's something I'm watching like a hawk this preseason I believe Ralph more than I believed the other guys, because of the degree to which he's emphasized it, like the other stuff, but I'm still legitimately worried he's going to go the Moulson-17/18 route with some bad hockey players. Decisions like that can hurt your team in a huge way, just like winning one of your first nine games like we did that year can sink a season before it starts.
  19. I hope we don't give Scandella the benefit of the doubt. He should either be obviously substantially better on the ice this preseason or he should be nowhere near the starting six, and it should be that simple.
  20. The most exciting thing that could happen with this current roster and no more moves to bring in new players would be guys like Victor, Tage, Asplund forcing trades of Sheary/Zemgus, and blasting Sobotka far away - Skinner - Eichel - Vesey Olofsson - Mitts - Reinhart Johansson - Asplund - Thompson such that Tage is actually good and Asplund looks like a force Zemgus - Larsson - Rodrigues Now, if we add a top six forward before the season AND the kids look great? I start to get excited not just about hockey season, but actual genuine excitement about this year's Sabre team.
  21. To some degree, at least when Jason went calling before hiring Phil 2 years ago. Not sure if other organizations have ever called him.
  22. What if they suck, but don't suck particularly worse when things are "tough?" Because if I were a betting man that's where I'd place my money on this team falling.
  23. Sounds like Laine is headed to Switzerland to train while he doesn't have a contract. I was going to say it's very hard to compare a 29yo defenseman to a 23/24 yo forward, but when I think about it, Spurgeon is basically the Reinhart of defensemen. Forgettable to the rest of the league, quietly very good.
  24. I would be insulted if I was Point and this was true.
