vet forward to fill in until Quinn returns
Randall Flagg replied to sweetlou's topic in The Aud Club
The things I had in mind for Jack Quinn are almost certainly unattainable by Rousek or any in-house option, so I would either be changing my formula or bringing in another player in light of Quinn's injury. Doing nothing because we have Greenway or Rousek is probably what we will do, but I believe it's silly -

Tatar will play 2RW and seamlessly slot down to be a more appealing 3rd line option when Quinn gets back It's about the hockey, not the age of the player I'm not interested in putting a kid I've never seen before at 2RW, that's an important spot -

Tatar would be an excellent signing -

11 forwards and 7 defenseman lineup to start the season??

Is Tatar still out there? Why isn't he a Sabre if so -
His position on Eichel was that the cup win tips the scales, but that's not how you evaluate players

Barbashev won the cup too, so is he a better center than Thompson as well?

Sharks trade Karlsson to Penguins in 3 team trade with Montreal
Randall Flagg replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
There's something to the fact that over the years it always seems to be games against Pittsburgh that put us back into our place when we think we are ready to take the step. They always seem to stomp on us and laugh as we recede back into our hole -

They finished ahead of us last year, Crosby is still elite, Malkin and Letang can still play, and they added a Norris trophy winner that scored over 100 points on top of that I'm not burying any team until they're dead -
Cord cutting will limit the rise of the Cap

There's no evidence that we would utilize a salary cap advantage if it was presented to us anyway -
It is not just sad, dumb luck that the Sabres' goaltending is bottom 5 in the league every year of Adams' tenure It's not "woe is me, i tried, there just weren't any options" He failed that key position each year, and if he fails it again this year and we miss the playoffs because of it, requiring a FIFTH season to attempt to make the playoffs for his FIRST time, he deserves to be removed with contempt

This might eventually happen, but it's not particularly relevant to us. The only thing I care about is that the 23-24 penguins just got a bit harder to leapfrog, which isn't a good thing -

Sens sign Tarasenko 1 year $5 million...

This might not happen -
Lafreniere would be my least favorite Sabre the moment we acquired him. Quinn is in my top 3 and has the potential to be my favorite I don't care that they had similar counting stats. Let's compare Quinn's 3rd NHL season to Laf's and see how the players rate, because when I watch the two, I see a budding star and a nobody, and Quinn isn't the nobody

Kevyn should be fired if a.) we miss the playoffs AND b.) we miss for reasons that we are all hand-wringing about right now when there is still time to fix them, because those things have been broken since he got here a long time ago If the Sabres play good hockey, get good goaltending, but miss in a strong conference with a key injury or two (Like missing Tage for 40 games, or losing Levi for the stretch run and missing by a point without the goaltending completely cratering without him), i wouldn't fire him, but would move him to the hot seat If we make the playoffs, we are back and I will judge him on the same timeline every good franchise judges their gm -

I'm going to look at 1 or 2 major outlets that do these rankings every year, check the histories, and see what the teams do after finishing 1 (or maybe top 3) -

Any sort of trepidation i had toward hearing Diggs finally talk has vanished. He had a good PC today. Good vibes are back baby cannot wait for September

I might have misunderstood why you quoted me but that's what I'm saying too. I will assume they are capable of making the playoffs at the very least, until they start missing them.
