  1. I don't really blame the posters here. They didn't talk about it until a guy who has demonstrably had sources before said it was done, and discussion picked up again when Peters and Rivet, two guys who have played for the organization, claimed it was done again. It's a Sabres board, it would be surprising to not see those things trigger discussions. That said, the longer we go, and if the values are wrong, each source deserves to have their credibility docked. So Buffalonill gets credit for being wary of Chad's news. But he is also the one that has bumped the thread unprompted, plenty of times, which is what freeman is talking about, and it's definitely overdone at this point because honestly who even cares about waiting for a deal that has nothing to do with the coming year and will obviously get done at some point
  2. I wish he had played a little better so that they'd consider it a fluke and move forward. He was so bad that they might have Mike Evans or something by week 5
  3. The league is probably going to have to put out a meaningless statement on this, that's how bad it is
  4. So we are at least still sniffing the goalie market enough to be mentioned in a remark like that?
  5. My expectations for Quinn are low, I just want to see him back on time and gut through the year without reinjury. If he can do that I will be satisfied and the sky will be the limit later
  6. Stutzle has a chance to be the best player between both organizations. Dude scares me. But I also prefer Buffalo's total package and love the way their young talent is distributed through the positions, it's honestly close to ideal. 2 great centers, 2 great d men, a goalie, and some nice young wingers with high skill
  7. I would not prefer to give up either team or sport but football does a lot more for me than hockey these days. Unlocking some of the knowledge that can be uncovered with all-22 was a game changer for me.
  8. His hands limit his offensive ceiling, though they've gotten way better. Donny is going to focus on elevating the team's defensive play now that he's taught them to score, and Cozens will be his most crucial, and most attentive, student in that regard
  9. This has not been my experience. There are almost no Sabres fans in many sections. This phenomenon happens to a degree that it significantly impacts my enjoyment as a fan at the game, in a way that I would only expect if I was a cowboys fan heading to Philly for a road game. That the players also hate this and sense it from the drop of the puck just makes it a slam dunk issue to try and improve
  10. I did forget that Beane showed up after the draft that year. The rest of my point stands- even if he only drafted one all pro at the QB position, what teams are pulling them out of every draft, or even every other draft? Because any time anyone quantifies this, no matter the way they do it, they come to the conclusion that Beane is either good or excellent.
  11. It is a good point that there are tiers to this and you'd rather hit early than late based on definition of "hit" in that range. But you still haven't shown me how he lags other teams in that area. The McBeane regime has drafted 3 players capable of all pro seasons in 6 drafts so far (Allen, Tre, Milano). To believe the bills Lag is to believe that this is bad compared to 31 other teams. I am incredibly skeptical that that's true. Was hoping we'd grab him
  12. Beane and McDermott, from day one, talked up the traits that they saw that made them willing to literally stake their careers on Josh Allen, and those traits are why he is now a transcendent QB. "Beane got lucky because Nate silver-esque dweebs didn't like Allen"
  13. The arena was full of leafs fans for the 4-1 comeback in the presidents trophy year. It will never not happen and will never not be a detestable experience for sabres fans that wish to see those games
  14. I would rather alienate you four for one game per year than have what my wife and I have gone through at leaves games happen. It is an embarrassing, disgusting phenomenon that our arena's loudest night comes with 18000 blue and white jerseys making the noise. I have been treated like a road fan at an Oakland raiders game in our own building more than once. I would happily compromise and give southern Ontario sabres fans free tickets to another division game They could make this work trivially if they have clever people doing the job. I'm sorry for my abominable sentence structure im at work
  15. They are basically the only ones I'm talking about. I would implement a cold, ruthless Ticket Dictatorship for Leafs Habs and Bruins games only if I were in charge And leave every other game alone
  16. Especially when people exactly like you (and me) hated the pick so much
  17. I just scalped this picture from Twitter but it was a legit study of some sort. I know the ESPN one (roughly same range, put the Bills FIRST IN THE NFL) quantified it by judging how good your players were relative to the average player taken at that spot in the draft. Again, I've seen about 20 of these over the last few years and they all wind up putting the Bills in very good light. There are arguments to be made that the Bills need to get better at draft-adjacent things, like what Liger hints at - screwing up the DL for a few years means they keep needing to dip back into that well with premium picks and big free agent bucks, which isn't ideal because other parts of the roster take a hit. I have no issue with agreeing with that. But fans who blanket declare beane to be bad at drafting, which appears to be the general consensus, aren't right, and their reasoning is lazy because it ignores what the baseline is And I'm not ignoring the ***** Allen draft, man. It's the most important pick you can make and they hit a grand slam. "Don't count that" gtfo lmao. Would I be allowed to remove every team's best pick too?
  18. For leafs games in particular, I can usually see about 20 sabres fans in my section and the 2 adjacent. I'll ask them where they came from next time and we can extrapolate how many people in the building for leafs games are sabres fans from Ontario I'm not claiming that this is true on any given night, but on nights where sabres fans are 5% of the crowd, the raw number is not going to be big.
  19. I'd rather try to fix an untenable spectacle that is actively hostile to the Sabres fans present at those games (ask me how I know) than accommodate the 45 sabres fans from Ontario in attendance for those particular games which necessarily maintains the untenable spectacle
  20. Sorry I really like this and I think that it is far more pathetic and embarrassing to allow the building to look like it does against Toronto and Montreal. I am ashamed that my fellow fans do that to save a buck and we made a vow when we bought seasons this year to attend these games specifically no matter what, or give them to sabres fans we know if we can't Will it even work though?
  21. You can't just name all pros taken after your guys, because every single team in the league does that, you have to analyze how often your team does that and has their players fail relative to the rest of the league. And everytime someone does this, the Bills look pretty good. And 2022 would become just 20% of the analysis. Even if it was 0 for 7 (it's not) it wouldn't drop the Bills appreciably far in an analysis that it is such a small part of
  22. This was a draft analysis done from the 2018 through the 2021 drafts. The Bills finished 3rd. They have finished near the top every single time I've seen someone analyze drafts since Beane got here. Second round woes aside (their 2nd rounder this year looks like he can develop into a pro bowler, and quickly) Bills fans have untethered themselves from reality over the last 8 months Yes, there exist examples of physically painful picks when player X or player Y is available. That's how it works. When you quantify the value you draft regardless of this, the Bills do well. It's why they're ***** elite for ****'s sake
