  1. Yes. The vast majority said it was like a very bad cold, some not even. Others said the they didn't even know they had it. One friend did spend considerable time in hospital and it was very bad. She had blood clot issues in her lungs, but she is not sure if they were from the COVID, or the treatment. They developed while in hospital for treatment long after her other COVID symptoms were gone. Another friend who is a doctor in Europe got COVID as he was a front line doctor in the COVID ward at the main hospital in Novi Sad (Serbia). He had issues, but has recovered, but it take considerable time. He has tested for the anti-bodies and yet the authorities there are trying to force him to have the vaccine. He can't get an answer as to why. So far, they have not forced him. This tells me that something else is going on with the push to vaccinate. I am done with this *****
  2. Pay wall, but I trust you. Still the article seems to 'imply' the Sabres offered x. I don't think there is actual documentation out there to confirm what the Sabre offer was. Also, why is there a 'd' on the word hire in the thread title?
  3. How are there documented long-term serious health issues with COVID? It has not been around long enough. The vast majority of people who get it recover. The death rates that we know about in the developed world stand at about 2%. The vast majority of those people had underlying health issues to begin with. The deaths are tragic. Don't get me wrong. Bottom line is ... I am young (relatively speaking) and the risk of the unproven and rushed vaccines scare me more than COVID. I have family that have been severly affected by taking vaccines in the past, so I am reluctant, especially when I do not see a big problem in getting COVID. I am avoiding COVID as much as possible by doing the things that I was asked to do before the vaccines came out ... isolating as much as possible (this is easy for me, I admit ... I work from a home office and Zoom and electronic data exchange are easy for me to do as a CPA), wearing masks and physical distancing, which I was doing before COVID.
  4. In most cases that I know the choice not to be vaccinated has nothing to do with that person being 'borderline insane' no matter what the reasoning. I do not like that people who disagree with other people are refered to as such. If you agree with me (yes, I am talking to you @Cascade Youth) you are sane and rational, but if you don't you are not. That is a terrible take, IMO.
  5. Do have something that shows this? All I have ever seen reported was the the 'suspected difference' between the Sabre offer and the arbitrator award was $50,000, but nothing that says what the Sabre offer was.
  6. Seems pretty small time to me. Something like that is now legal (betting on individual sporting events) in Canada, except the provinces have not figured out how to administer it as the law just passed
  7. Hello Angry @bob_sauve28, Nice to meet you. 😉
  8. Okay. I can understand what you are saying and feeling. I happen to agree with you that he is terrible. I think that our PM is terrible, but I do not celebrate if something bad happens to him in terms of health especially. Then what about Karma? You mentioned this is Karma coming back to haunt him. This tells me that you believe in good and bad Karma, so what about your thoughts being bad Karma? With that, I like you a lot and we are not going to get anywhere with more back and forth, so lets just leave at this. Okay?
  9. Okay, wish was a bad word choice, but it does not change the fact that celebrating in someone's illness, or hardship, or whatever, is never right. No matter what they have done. I can understand victims of a murderers rampage feeling fine with them getting their punishment, but this situation is not like that. Even if you make the arguement that his policies as governor of Texas have been problematic and part of the issues with COVID illness and even death it is still not right to celebrate his misfortune.
  10. This is correct. No matter what. If you know better, you need to do better. No matter what it is very bad form to wish ill on anyone. This is not going to help and is also a bad take, IMO.
  11. Stunning result in Nova Scotia last night. A Progressive Conservative sweeping majority. No one really saw this coming. At the start of this very short and ill timed campaign the Liberals had a slight majority of 1 seat. The Premier took over from the retired Premier in February, so he wanted his own mandate, but he didn't need it now. He had 2 years left on the mandate he inherited, but nope, he needed his own. Well it backfired on his ass big time, heavy duty. The PC party ran a very good and very progressive campaign. I wish them luck in doing what they outlined. I am not upset, as the PC party right now are very liberal. Nova Scotia is a funny place in that they keep their hands close to their chest during elections and when they get pissed off they will really show it. Only about half of the eligible voters voted, which is disgraceful, and the ones that did about 40% voted PC. So, that means that roughly 21% of the eligible voters in NS decided for everyone else who was going to run the province for the next 4 years. We have a very strange electoral system here in Canada and it needs to change. I bet Mr. Smug Ass Trudeau is watching very closely what happened in NS last night. I think that he is in for a reconing on September 9th. I just hope that he hangs on for a slim majority, since I don't like his main competitor at all. My hope beyond hope is that Canada finally gives the very liberal NDP (New Democratic Party) a chance to govern, even in a minority. Minority govenments, both Federal and Provincial, tend to work best, as the PM needs to work with other parties to get things done.
  12. Develops the film so they can all sit around and watch films?
  13. Some of these are pretty funny. I don't see anything like this happeneing. As far as MLS goes, Toronto FC (since I like FC I do not say that they are from The Great Satan, even though they are) kits are fine ... a big BMO on the front, but Bank of Montreal is their big sponsor and is paying for all of it. BMO Field, BMO this and that and the other thing too ...
  14. I think you are onto something here, Mr. Smell, or do you still use Judge even though you have retired?
  15. I gave you a lol thingie only because the poop my brains out thingie is not available.
  16. So, Patches and the guy the Sabres screwed over are back in town to help develop the kids. This is so numbskullish that it may actually work.
  17. You must mean MLS, eh? The major leagues in Europe do not need these ad revenue. The Emire that owns Man C does not need to get some $ because he has Etihad Airways on the front of the jersey. He owns the damn airline too. Fun fact ... Etihad technically opperates out of Halifax (in conjunction with Air Canada). So, I can fly to UAE (not that I would ever want to) on Etihad Airways.
  18. Hello NASCAR or EPL. They need to suppliment their revenue, so I get it. How does it work? Will each team get their own sponsor and charge whatever the market will bear, or is there some kind of revenue sharing, or whatever?
  19. We have approached this thing much differently in Canada. Our case numbers in most places are very low. In NS we thought the world was coming to an end when we had 6 weeks of 'high' numbers ... some days we had added about a hundred a day for about a week. Then we shut it down and rode it out. NS has just under 1 million people, about half of which live in Greater Halifax, which includes Sunnyvale Trailer Park. People in Canada - the real parts ... not Ontario and Quebec, where the numbers were actually quite high when compared to the States and Europe ... tend to get worked up about the numbers @Ducky was talking about. I am concerned that we in NS have added 9 new cases today. All Delta and all related to travel. And now we are allowing you Yanks to come into Canada.
  20. @GASabresIUFAN ... Risto was not part of the damn tank fruit. I am surprised he survived the tank and was not traded by TM in his terrible rebuild attempt.
  21. That number seems to be stuck in an unclosed loop and every single hire has to be paid that. Goalie. Yup $750K Forward ... $750K Dman ... sorry we wanted to do $800K, but can't ... $750K it is Rip ... chz ... PA ... Charlie ... everyone!! $750K
