  1. Call him a pretty boy and pull the jersey over his head.
  2. Commander Cody? I am more of a Commander Tom guy. (although I have seen Commander Cody in concert.)
  3. The only reason to dump O'Reilly is because he doesn't fit Colorodo's price structure. There is no way they are going to want to take more money coming back. Picks and prospects is probably what they will want. Or assets they can deal at deadline. Think one of the following: Armia, Pysyk, McNabb, plus draft picks, and the like.
  4. Got to see O'Reilly a bit in Erie. He's not a point a game guy, but he does everything well and he's a hell of a two way player. I would hate to see a team in the division get him. He's more of a Drury or a Callahan than a Stafford. High end 2nd line center. I'd love to see him in blue and gold.
  5. ;) X. = Nothing Bene = Good Dict = to say. The Sabres aren't a playoff team this year. This isn't a problem that Ruff or anyone else can coach their way out of. Having said that - it is time for a change. Hire Marc Crawford. There is no checking line, no one that can win a face-off (i'm a face-off geek and it is worse than it looks, and it looks bad), and Hodgson is the only center that can carry the puck into the circles. Ennis has been solved at center. Push him to the outside and keep Foligno and Stafford to the walls. They need a center to open up space, they don't have any. Keep the scouting department. Darcy, or someone else, should move at least 4 players off this roster by trade deadline. I expect he'll be around. Haven't had time to be around much as I've been floating the resume around Rome, but I trust everyone is well. Curriculum Vitae: Short order Breakfast Cook with hockey addiction willing to make Ex Cathedra pronouncements.
  6. Not sure, but it looks like Enroth will be here for at least 7 years.
  7. Was it Joe Kennedy who sold all his stock the day he started getting stock tips from the shoe shine boy? I've never really understood the fascination with rumor sites. I always had the impression that a few savvy posters here could be just as good figuring out what trades just made sense.
  8. I really think the owners are willing to sacrifice the first two months of the season to get a deal they want. Most of the American clubs aren't going to worry about losing games in Oct-Nov. - in fact those months are probably already net losers in many markets. I really think the owners are thinking get this done by the first week of Dec. I'm very pessimistic about hockey starting on time. Go Amerks.
  9. great move for Montreal, IMO. They just locked up their leading scorer for under 5 a year.
  10. I like Couturier, and don't think I'd want to undervalue the guy, but no way would Philly decline that offer. Couterier is going to be a serviceable 2nd or 3rd line center for years to come. He is kind of a poor man's Jordan Staal in a way, but much less physical (even in juniors). He's in a nice place to develop right now, but he's not moving into a top 6 role soon IMO. He's a smart player and definitely an NHL player, but I don't think he's one that has the breakout potential simply because he's not that athletic. He's more Adam Creighton than Claude Giroux IMO.

  12. Be sure to bring your jukebox money.
  13. I would like the idea of adding Gagner. Surely a kid that could use a change a scenery and that has some versatility. Solid 2nd unit PP play option and hey,.....maybe he could put up 8 pts in a few more games. Of course I'm also in the "you can't have too many centers" camp.
  14. You have weird dreams. Sean Courterier....very nice two way player, a little sluggish skating and doesn't get off many shots yet. I think he's probably a very good 2nd or 3rd line center for years to come and probably a mainstay on the Flyers kill. but no way do I trade a top pair D for a 2nd or 3rd line center at this point unless he's bringing point per game production.
  15. I got into an extended email exchange with Luke DeCock a few years back. He was always cordial. Even when I asked him: What's up with that first name of yours, don't you get sick of the Star Wars jokes?
  16. I think there are very few players that can immediately change the culture of your team. I think he's one of them. He's been such a durable player, I'm not too worried about him playing 70+ games. Honestly, I don't think he signs in Buffalo, but it sounds like Buffalo has certainly given him negotiating leverage.
  17. That's Xavier Hollandaise Benedict. I suggest Holly if it is a girl.
  18. She really is the perfect blend of the unattainable and approach-ability Of course she's also age inappropriate, so I gift her to you. You are welcome.
  19. I went to see the Anne Hathaway movie last night. She stars in a comic book movie. I don't recall the rest. She was good.
  20. It is a decent bet, for sure. If Carolina's season doesn't pan out, someone may be willing to add Semin at the trade deadline. So Carolina could get a favorable return on investment without paying that full contract.
  21. Cue the Rocky Horror.... She's just a sweet transvestite .....
  22. It is an interestingly constructed team at the moment. Some undersized agitators ....but little muscle in the corners or net presence. I don't think they've yet replaced what Erik Cole gave them.
  23. Semin to Carolina....hmmm?....that's interesting. 7M one year? Didn't see that one comin'. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=401505
  24. No thanks on that legal tender, but the Rangers have a first line, Richards-Nash and have to wait for Gaborik Outside of Callahan, nobody else on that roster has ever scored 20 goals. Check that. Taylor Pyatt has. Scoring depth remains an issue in my mind.
  25. I wouldn't be surprised if they improved, but the Rangers PP problems had much more to do with the blue line than the front end IMO. I don't think that changes much, even with a very good Nash.
