  1. How about Le Rougeneck....that work?
  2. Torres has a line with Marleau and Couture. Boyes with Tavares and Moulson. Funny how when you go from McCormick and Hecht on the third and fourth lines to productive line-mates on top lines, the world can look a little different.
  3. They have four solid forwards. The rest of that team is off the trash heap and waiver wire. They have to re-sign half that team for next year and have almost no depth. I don't think that team would have made it through an 82 games season.
  4. Well...when you put it like that.
  5. And if you are going to goon in up. There is some utility in the last line change at home. Maclean owned Therrien.
  6. Hmmmm. Swiss 3- Canada 2. in SO. Lindy ain't gonna like that one.
  7. For those that missed it.
  8. reminded me of the Battle of Quebec back in 87 I think.
  9. If the Blues win this series, the conditional 5th round pick for Leo, becomes a 4th. IIRC.
  10. Good luck!
  11. I'm happy.
  12. I'd like to be a purist and say I really enjoyed the 0-0 game to overtime that the Caps just won, but I can't.
  13. How do you like Orb with the turf?
  14. My bad. I read that wrong.
  15. I think you'd have difficulty finding 50 players in the league that would call the Gyrba hit 100% dirty. I really think most would say that Gyrba has to make that hit in that situation. Only the blood on the ice tipped the balance IMO. The NHLPA is the players. They won't want to change this. Eventually the first multi-million $ law suits for Post-Concussion CTE cases from player families will likely tip the balance.
  16. I actually thought that was exactly what Darcy meant ---(sincerely) it didn't particularly excite me - but what else could he have meant by "we've utilized free agency" ...that's how he's utilized it. Feeble, but I do think that was his sincere, off the top of his head answer. And he's right in my opinion, the pool is pretty dry. Whether or not he's utilized free agency well is another matter.
  17. If I'm Stevie Y....I'm wondering if Fucale falls to #33 or if I have to move up 10 spots to get him. That would be something : Drouin and Fucale.
  18. It is so hard to predict where goalies go in the draft. I wouldbe okay with Fucale at #16, but I think he falls to late in the round.
  19. That's an interesting idea. I'm not sure if the Sabres would want to part with Armia. The Sabres are looking pretty thin on the right side going forward, and the price of getting to #3 may be prohibitive.
  20. Chad Ruwhedal, Kevin Porter, Brian Flynn were all UFA players added to the roster. Feeble perhaps, but a lie? There is plenty of rope to hang Darcy with without saying "he lied," isn't there?
  21. "The trade at the deadline began in some ways with Paul Gaustad, we utilized free agency albeit the pool is not like it once was, and now it is first and foremost through the draft...(blah, blah, blah).....moving Leopold, Regier, and Pominville is part of that process." I might not agree with the process, but I don't see a lie in that.
  22. I'm not against a shorter season...but 48 games in a condensed format with no practice time made for a lousy league wide product this year. 65 games from Oct to April would be a much better product.
  23. I think much of it has to do with Gyrba lacking veteran and name recognition in the league..... Chara, Markov, Subban, or even Letang making that hit, and the conversation is completely different. Gyrba.......well......he's a #6 rookie.
  24. What offer are we talking about here? How much did Buffalo offer Parise and Suter? Do you know? (personally, I would have worried about Parise's knee.....but Suter is a stud...probably a top 10 defensemen in the entire league, would you disagree? If Suter came to the East he would be right behind Chara, and though he's not Karlson...Suter has a much more complete game and could probably play 40 minutes a night....I'm hard pressed to name 3 defensemen better in the East....maybe Letang...but Letang is a much different type of player ) I just contend that kicking the tires on players like this and "rebuild" are not a contradiction? There is plenty to criticize Darcy for, but rebuilding the roster by sniffing upper market free agents shouldn't be one of them, should it?
