    For all we know the guys we got may end up being bust and what we gave up may end up being great. But oh well! Mcnabb obviously wasn't in there plans but had some value, and we got wingers!

    This was a "hockey trade" made between people who know hockey. It may not be flashy, or I get it's thought to look past draft rounds last year, but this was a hockey trade. You may not agree that fasching is worth 2 2nd rounders, but that IS what he is worth. Because that's what an nhl gm wanted and what nhl gm was willing to pay Let's hope there's more

    Being a ppg player as a power forward as a freshman at the UMN is kinda a big deal. I know it was only 10 months ago, but that's enough for someone to play in their first NCAA season. Baptiste, compber, and Ullmark are all players who wouldn't get drafted where they did last year either.

    You realize there are sleepers and late round gems each draft. Every gm ever has missed all stars who got drafted late.... If there was a redraft fasching would go late 1st or early 2nd. That's why we traded two 2nds for him Oh well not everyone will like the trade. The sabres have an abundance of picks and used some to get a really nice prospect

    So that was last year. Should we trade possler and Ullmark for 4th rounders! (That would be a net gain)? I wouldn't trade either for 2nds

    Look we gave up two draft picks which hurts and they have up a really nice prospect which hurts them. Go read LA message boards and the majority of them are upset at losing fasching

    Mcnabb is someone who can't crack a lineup with Scott starting at D. While mcnabb's time should be now, he is still in the AHL. He is 23 and fell behind ristolainen, pysyk, zadorov, and McCabe. He projected to to be a 3rd pairing. We got two very nice winger prospects who can score (our position of need) We had to throw in draft picks because we got the better prospects. TSN has confirmed hte other prospect is deslauriers About Hudson Fashing He is a RW powerfoward (!!!) who is 6-3, 215 pounds and is enjoying a breakout season at the university of Minnesota as a freshman. He has put up 12 goals and 15 assists in 31 games Elite Prospects Hockeys Future About Nicolas Deslauriers An LW who was a defenseman and now has 39 points in 69 games in the AHL.     Why do you keep comparing a 30 year old ufa to a 26 year old under contract? They are two different players in two different discussions. Both have cons and pros of keeping them, but are independent of another

    Just because people want to keep someone for the rebuild, DOESNT mean they are wanting to build around them. Maybe what we get in a trade for Stewart is less then what he is worth as a player for us for the next 3-5 years

    I would rank each of those in the order they were drafted. I'm just saying we have more b level prospects in the league. I'm not scoffing at the idea of getting more. But I'd rather them try to create packages to get higher ranked prospects

    Veterans are much easier to get than solid young players. Free agency and trades.
