  1. I don’t think he’s someone the brass would be considering, but I’m curious how he is as a person, and if he would be effective in teaching Tage and Cozens for one season, then we poke and prod him over to Seattle next year (he’s from that area, isn’t he?).
  2. This is an interesting question. How is he leadership-wise? Is it worth taking him for $5mil and sticking him on the 3rd line to help teach Cozens and Tage?
  3. Soooooo...he was a prospect like a decade ago? I could’ve sworn part of the rationale behind firing Chris Taylor was that he had too many expensive contracts on the Amerks roster (as if that was his doing)...
  4. The problem is, as of this posting, they still don’t have the goaltending solved, and they are still missing those “2-3” players (Staal may count as one, so let’s say 2). I understand there’s still players left to be signed - but are they realistically coming here? Get me a Toffoli or equivalent for the 2nd line, and a Kahun for the 3rd line, and a decent G to split the net with Linus - then I’ll be more optimistic.
  5. Blues signed Krug?
  6. So, the first half of the tweet was posted yesterday, and the second half was posted today? Got it.
  7. Nitpicking about the 4th line is probably a solid reason why the Sabres haven’t been in the playoffs in a decade.
  8. I’m impressed. Only 5.5 for 7 years?
  9. Cool but who is John Anderson? Is this some separate player who is an unheralded prospect?
  10. Nash probably could’ve traded down and still taken Askarov. Sucks for them.
  11. HEY! He scored 15 goals once, and was in an All Star game.
  12. Sounds like it’s 3 years, 2M
  13. This has become a common theme for Sabres fans for a decade now when it comes to draft picks. Kassian, Grigorenko, Mitts, you name it.
  14. It might be for Angry Larry. Wait until you see him in a Bruins or Flyers uni.
  15. Who the h-e-double-hockey-sticks is John Anderson?
  16. I don’t disagree with this at all. I was more curious what goalie prospects, backup goalies, etc usually fetch in trades. I remember what it took to get Hasek (Beauregard), and what Buffalo got after he was established (that guy that didn’t wanna be here). I THINK I remember a good return on a CuJo trade. Otherwise nothing notable pops up in my memory. What did the Habs get when they traded Roy?
  17. Between Duclair, And Then I See You, Toffoli, and whoever else - seems like there are a lot of options to look at.
  18. Historically, what return do these types of goalies fetch in trades? My weak memory tells me the returns are usually weak, or trades for another goalie, but I could be wrong...
  19. What KA wants, and what TP commands, might not be the same.
  20. How did Pu end up in FLA?
  21. He’s more of a 2nd line or high level 3rd line player, from what I’ve gathered. I suppose you COULD slot him anywhere in the lineup, depending on what ours ends up looking like.
  22. That, or they plan on relying heavily on cheap talent (regardless if they’re ready or not) to fill the roster in order to fit into their “budget.” Meaning the Tages and Caseys and Wills and Dylans of the world MUST be ready no matter what.
  23. Two of you haven’t made your picks for the week...
  24. Well, how big is Kahun? So far it’s been Staal, giraffe Tage, Lazar, and choosing Quinn over “tiny” Rossi. Oh and what’s his name the AHL player who is big. There seems to be a pattern here so far.
