The easier way to choose a name, is to pick a former Sabre instead. You could be Schoenfeld’s Mattress. Enzo Sauce. Kick Save Krunch. The Ghost of the Bat Lorenz Killed.

We are in the dead days of the NHL schedule. My speculation is that it will only be crickets until we start getting close to training camp. That’s when the pressure will build up again.

That’s the whole thing with a mental illness. People who are mentally ill do not understand the consequences of what they are saying or doing. My daughters mother left her in the middle of a Walmart parking lot when she was 4 months old. 4 years later, she still doesn’t grasp the concept of what she did. In her mind, it never even happened, despite the police and paramedics showing up. If mentally ill people understood what they were saying and doing, then they would be just like you and me, and not mentally ill.

Sabres fans were spoiled to have such great goaltending back to back with Hasek and then Miller. Any goalie since them hasn’t held a candle to their predecessors, and has gotten roasted by the fans in the process. Hell, even Miller was heavily debated about on here. It sucks that a lot of us can’t appreciate any goalies we have because they aren’t the greatest goalie of all time that we were blessed to see with the Sabres. Ullmark, as an example, is a better goalie than a lot of fans realize.
