Instant gratification hockey. I see Myers was hurt again last night, though. McNabb just has me still scratching my head. If I was a GM I'd have a rule that you never trade good defenseman because they are just impossible to replace, but that's just me. Is Chad Rueedal on the list, or did he just walk away with free agency?

Nice! I think hockey itself is really taking off as a sport all over. So much more popular now. I see this at the rink with more skaters all the time, the expanding number of teams and so many young and diverse players

I'm actually optimistic about next season. They need to add more to the bottom six and add more scoring to the defense but I'm hopeful something will happen. Side point: We got to the finals in 1999 mostly because of Hasek. No one did anything really to make the improvement for us to be a better team out of a strategy, long range planning, good drafting or trades, it was almost entirely an accident. We picked up an aging player that no one really wanted and he turned into the best player in the world. Not sure what that has to do with this thread, but I just wanted to say it

I was thinking a fast Andreychuck or maybe Hossa. More of a playmaker like Hawerchuk but he seems bigger than Dale. Whoever, he looks great. No surprise he was out there late when they needed a goal. His play on the first goal last night was something. Just a simple pass to a guy open in the offensive zone.

Mittelstadt looks like a ten year vet out there. Would not surprise me if he led team in scoring next year

Sorry if I missed it early, but I understand we have an 18.5% chance of being number one, but what are the odds of second and third pick? Or worse? All the top five look pretty good. Who do you guys think we actually end up with? I'm assuming we don't get the top pick as odds are against us. If we draft 2 or 3 might we trade down a little and pick Bouchard or Hughes and add another player or draft pick?

He turns the puck over constantly. But, these defenseman need time to improve. All these defenseman are so young, we could just go with Nelson, Scandella, Risto, Mcabe, Beaulieu, Guhle, Antipin and Bogo and just count on all of them simply improving--not Bogo, we are stuck with him. The one thing that really worries me is the lack of offense from the group. I'm not into throwing baby out with bath water, it might be frustrating but the defense needs time to mature and grow.
