I've been checked out since the two Boston games. This team could still concievably go on a ridiculous run and make the playoffs, but the chances of that happening under Dan are so miniscule. What is GMTM doing? What the is he watching?

Had some incredible nights on the ponds and games last night and tonight. One night was with some old friends under the moon and stars on a giant reservior. I'm not a religious person, but it was a spiritual experience. Tonight was the inaugural game for my family's team. We lost, but it was an absolute blast. Can't wait to see how much better everyone gets now that we have a team with a great attitude towards learning players.

And as bad as Grant is, can he possibly be worse than Moulson 5 on 5?

Awwww, poor Eleven. His Favorite Little Flyer is on the third pair. Glad Samson is back at center. Not fond of Zemgus on the 4th line. What is the point of shuffling lines to random combinations during practice? To create as little chemistry as possible? Does Bylsma think he's Belichick?

I think Roy was a purely offensive 2nd line center that was constantly forced into a position to fail by Darcy's horrid team-building. He also gave effort and was frustrating as all hell to watch. I think Ennis is a free-wheeler that doesn't necessarily have the vision to last in the NHL. With his body, and the way he plays, he's always 1 square hit away from being done. I think he knows that now, and can't be the same player he was with the fear in him. It's pretty sad, because Ennis was my favorite player when I started getting into hockey in 2010-2011.

Every day that passes with Bylsma not getting fired is another demerit on GMTM's permanent record.

Skate with the puck A LOT. There's no real way to learn than to practice a ton. And Flagg, learning how to hockey stop is so so so much easier with pads on. That way you don't have to worry about hurting yourself and you can just go hard and try.

It's almost like if Bylsma puts Zemgus in a position to succeed that Zemgus can... gasp... succeed.

O'Reilly, Okposo, Eichel, Reinhart, Kane, Larsson, Foligno, and a Gionta that scores. But no, let's lock it down with the neutral zone trap and loser point our way to missing the playoffs. Actually, calling it a neutral zone trap makes it sounds like it's hard for other teams to gain the zone. It's not.

This team is definitely talented enough to solidly make the playoffs, injuries and all. We have a great stable of forwards and a coach with no clue what to do with them.

That was a smart damn play by O'Reilly. Knew the goalie couldn't see.

Oops I deleted my bizarre string of personnel decisions post. What happened was: Grant and Moulson gained the offensive zone and shot it into the goalie. Dan kept them out there for the o-zone face-off. Off the face of the Jets iced it. Dan then puts out O'Reilly centering Eichel and Okposo. Fedun takes a shot right off the faceoff and it's saved. Dan then puts on the Kane line after O'Reily's line gets 4 seconds of ice time. Talk about getting in your own head. We had 3 scoring chances that period. O'Reilly to Gionta, Samson from Kane I think?, and Samson to O'Reilly (goal).

Boring stuff. Par for the course.

That reach and useless poke by Zemgus was unacceptable. That should be cleared down the ice every time.

Lehner and Risto both got burned badly by that fake. I didn't see who it was that passed it, but that was a nice play.

The thread about the Russian ambassador to Turkey being deleted really bothered me. I was under the impression that the ban on political talk was related to the visceral, emotional responses in the direct wake of the election. How are we supposed to pretend this isn't happening? This board has never been a hockey escapist getaway, it's a collection of people. So in response to that thread being deleted, I started another politics thread, it got deleted, and then made a dummy thread called holiday cooking with the same message that's posted in here and around the NHL and one more thread. That was my emotional response to having no real understanding of the unprecedented gag rule. I tried to straight up ask the owner of the board to clarify, and he didn't respond to me other than to post screenshot proof that he pays for this place. I got banned for a day by chz. The reason given was that nobody wants to have my rant posted in every thread. That's true, that was a rash, emotional response of mine. But wouldn't deleting the posts and giving me a warning have been a more fair punishment? The duplicate posts are still there, so teaching me a lesson was obviously more important than the spam cluttering threads. I've never been banned before. I've been an every day member of this board for 5 years. It's a reflex for me to check sabrespace every time I pick up my phone. I've come to deeply care about many people I haven't met in person. I take being banned very personally. I've been very weary about being on here ever since the last time PA got banned. Good moderation is like good hockey reffing. It shouldn't become the focus of the attention. I don't accept that the mods want us to PM them to talk about this. It's a public forum. I don't have a familiar personal relationship with any of the mods, as I do with many of the posters that I do PM. So, yeah. I was really dreading having to get this down in writing all day. I'm taking a break for a while. I'll hang around for a day or so to PM people and get email addresses and stuff. Hope everyone has a merry christmas and happy new year! Go Sabres!

I know you're the money man (which I thank you for), but it appears that you're pretty hands off when it comes to actual moderation. I also am obviously not privy to any private message conversations you have with the mods, too. Can you explain to us why the politics threads keep getting shut down? There has been very little actual discourse between the board and the mods on this, just the board voicing its displeasure and the threads being shut down.
