  1. You are correct! I absolutely have no recollection of him being a Sabres. In 1987, Napier got traded along with Lee Fogolin to the Buffalo Sabres for Normand Lacombe and Wayne Van Dorp. his last 2 seasons in the NHL were with the Sabres. Retired a 2 time Stanley Cup winner He is most recognized for his time with the Canadians
  2. I thought every thread eventually turns into an Adams thread ,,, Usually the same people regurgitating their arguments over and over and over and ….
  3. As of Aug 8th there are Days until the Sabres season begins this one is for the old guys on the site. Truth be told I don’t remember him at all, playing for the Sabres see if anyone knows who this is …..
  4. Nope, was definitely over my head ’stone cold’ Brady Austin
  5. The above is Brady Austin who now plays for Kölner Haie of the DEL league in Germany
  6. as of Aug 7 there are Days until puck drop interesting that no Sabres has ever worn 66 The above pic is of Seantrel Henderson. A 7th round pick in 2014 who started all 16 games for the Bills that year He played for the Bills from 2014-2017 unfortunately, he suffered from Crones disease. He was suspended multiple times due to his use of marijuana to help deal with the pain of the disease. He later ran into injury issues and was never able to duplicate the success he had in his rookie campaign . Now plays for Saskatchewan of the CFL
  7. Hint #3. He is 6’4 and was drafted out of the OHL Here are the teams he played for 11-12 Belleville Bulls OHL 68 6 20 26 59 -1 12-13 Belleville Bulls “A” OHL 64 8 15 23 22 16 13-14 Belleville Bulls “A” OHL 7 1 4 5 6 2 London Knights “A” OHL 60 8 20 28 36 49 14-15 Rochester Americans AHL 66 1 9 10 31 -16 Elmira Jackals ECHL 1 0 0 0 0 0 15-16 Rochester Americans AHL 72 2 9 11 37 -2 16-17 Buffalo Sabres NHL 5 0 0 0 4 0 Rochester Americans AHL 72 4 8 12 59 -10 17-18 Cleveland Monsters AHL 65 6 17 23 42 2 18-19 Stockton Heat AHL 2 0 0 0 0 -4 Esbjerg Energy Denmark 18 3 6 9 51 8 19-20 Rytíři Kladno Czechia 52 18 25 43 26 -12 20-21 Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod KHL 50 4 10 14 39 -3 21-22 Tappara Liiga 52 4 9 13 38 21 22-23 Kölner Haie DEL 56 9 16 25 31 1
  8. NHL.com team preview. Trigger alert. For those who get triggered when you hear others showing optimism in regards to the coming season - All 3 of the writers have the Sabres in the playoffs( 2 of them written in Sharpie) , so Watch at your own discretion https://www.nhl.com/video/buffalo-sabres-season-preview/t-277350912/c-18230556
  9. Hint #2. Drafted 7th round in 2012. Played 5 regular season games with Sabres and over 140 with Rochester
  10. Hopefully the barn door is now open and we will see more trade im still in the camp that Hanifan is a Sabres by the time camp opens
  11. Sometimes I think your beef is with fans who are optimistic and are excited for the season. Can you not let someone who is “looking forward to the season with a belief that the Sabres are in a position to succeed” be? Why do you feel the need to tear that person down?
  12. As of August 6th there are Until puck drop ill be really impressed if you can name this player without help of the internet
  13. As of August 4th days until puck drop
  14. Here is one for the ladies to appreciate https://instagram.com/stories/poltap1311/3160724177537823462?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
  15. Interview of my man Poltapov. I still believe he is going to play an important role for the Sabres in a couple of years … PROKHOR POLTAPOV: I'M PREPARING FOR THE SEASON LIKE NEVER BEFORE The striker of the CSKA club Prokhor Poltapov told about how he conducts pre-season training with Zvezda. — From the first days of the preseason, it caught my eye that you gained muscle mass, returned from vacation in very good shape. Are you working on it? Do you want to add to the power, in the power struggle next season? — It seems to me that this is more the growth of the body, for the second year I have been playing with men and have already "beaten" with them, I have matured a little. Plus, it really won't hurt in a power struggle. — Everyone appreciated the video from the training camp, where you do great jumping exercises. Are you doing just as well with the other? Or are there any unloved ones? — I think everyone's least favorite exercises at the training camp are running. But there's no way without it, it's pre-season training, you're laying the foundation for the whole season. I hope I'm doing well with all the exercises. — Although your vacation started only in May, there was a tough playoff, it seems that you have plenty of energy. How did you manage to recharge so quickly? — I think it still something childish plays in me (laughs). When the season ends, I immediately start to miss all the working staff. In addition, we finished the season on a good note, so I want to prepare well so that next year will end just as positively. — Last year you reached a new level, but next year your rivals will be watching you more closely. Ready for this? And to the fact that the demand will be higher from you now? — Of course, I'm ready. I would like the demand to be higher, and that the rivals, going out on the ice, concentrate more, remembering something of the past. That's why I'm preparing for the season like never before.
  16. Something’s gotta give at some point think the “ask” for a goalie is too high still. Trading Jokiharju RHD as part of a package that lands Hanifan LHD just makes too much sense
  17. I keep coming back to the Sabres aquiring Pesce Could Oloffson and Jokiharju be enough?
  18. yes, I forgot the Pekar inclusion...that being said, he is writing one for every team so he's not going to be as accurate as we are (or should be)
  19. 2023-24 Prospect Pool Overview: Buffalo Sabres - The Hockey News https://thehockeynews.com/news/2023-24-prospect-pool-overview-buffalo-sabres i only have 1 small quibble in that Novikov isn't listed. I think he is right there with Johnson as the top D prospect in the system.
  20. From the Athletic Brett Pesce trade destinations: 5 teams that could (or should) be interested Dallas Buffalo "The Sabres already addressed the right side of their blue line this summer by signing Connor Clifton and Erik Johnson. So at this point, Pesce is less of a need and more of a luxury. That doesn’t take them out of the mix, entirely, though. If management wants to keep both Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Power on their natural side and take their blue line up a notch further, someone like Pesce could be an ideal top-four righty. He and Clifton could balance out the Dahlin and Power pairings, or he could take on a total shutdown role with Mattias Samuelsson against top competition to free up their two stars. Pesce would be a plus on their penalty kill, as well. The remaining RHD (Johnson, Henri Jokiharju and Ilya Lyubushkin) could rotate in and provide some injury support this upcoming year. And there’s room for a long-term future with Pesce, especially with Johnson and Lyubushkin becoming UFAs next summer." Toronto Nashville Edmonton
  21. Am I alone in that I don’t think the Sabres change up from the Samuelsson and Dahlin pairing.? I see Hanifan being pair 3 with Johnson and or Lyubushkin. However playing more than a typical bottom pair. IF the Sabres happen to land him
  22. The Sabres have had a great prospect Pool for a long time but the Sabres lineup had lots of holes in it...so we needed to wait for those prospects to develop and fill the holes Hear are the some of the stiffs the sabres have had on their opening night rosters for the Sabres since the Tank 15/16 David Legwand, Jamie McGinn, Josh Gorges, Cody Franson, Mike Weber, Carlo Colaiacovo , Chad Johnson,Risto (lost to Ottawa 3-1) 16/17 Hudson Fashing, Nicolas Deslauriers, Matt Moulson, Casey Nelson, Derek Grant, Josh Gorges, Risto (lost 4-1 to Mtl) 17/18 Jordan Nolan, Jocab Josefon, Seth Griffith, Benoit Pouliot, Victo Antipin, Matt Tennyson, Nathan Beaulieu, Risto (lost to MTL 3-2 in Shoot out) 18/19 Vladimir Sobotka, Conor Sheary, Casey Nelson, Patrik Bergland, Nathan Beaulieu, Carter Hutton, Marco Scandella, Risto (lost 4-0 to Boston) 19/20 Conor Sheary, Jimmy Vesey, Colin Miller, Marcus Johansson, Vladimir Sobotka, Risto, Carter Hutton (Won 3-1 vs Pitt) 20/21 Riley Cheahan, Curtis Lazar, Tobias Rieder, Cody Eakin, Erik Stal, Colin Miller, Risto , Carter Hutton (Lost 6-4) 21/22 Drake Caggiula, Andres Bjork, Cody Eakin, Vinnie Hinostroza, Jacob Bryson, Hobert Hagg, Mark Pysyk, Colin Miller ( Won 5-1 vs Mtl) 22/23 Jacob Bryson What player above would be on the Sabres 2022/23 Opening night roster?
