thats maybe true but Ullmark had an ok record this season. Not disagreeing with you - just think Hutton is the bigger issue we should be concentrating on right now -

Since the beginning of last season. I believe he is 20-17-5. Above .500. Anyways. My point is and remains. Step 1 is to move on from Hutton Firing Ralph before upgrading in goal is putting the cart in front of the horse He is a major problem. You keep Hutton and hire another coach. Do you really expect different results ?? Waiving Hutton should be step 1 -

I agree, with a lot of what people are saying but they were set up for failure when they brought back literally the worst goalie in the league. Yes they were shut out yesterday but you can’t blame Ralph for missing the point blank chances they had. Montour in particular. this is the 3rd coach now who they’ve had since th tank and all were saddled with below avg, if not the worst goaltending in the league. that needs to be addressed. And it’s clearly Adam’s who should be feeling the heat for keeping Hutton around -

You can’t win in the NHL with a goalie who’s save percentage is .880. It’s impossible -unless your are the 80’s Oilers -

They are 5-4-2 with Ullmark. Is there any coach in the world that can overcome the worst goalie in the league ??? changing the coach and keeping Hutton will change absolutely nothing -

True, but they actually have a winning record with Ullmark in net since the beginning of last season -

The problem isn’t the coach it’s Carter Hutton. I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face but there isn’t one coach in the world that can win with him on the roster So it’s a useless move firing the coach and keeping Hutton team actually has a winning record with Ullmark -
I cannot believe they passed over Stalock who was claimed by Edmonton. If the Sabres wanted to make a statement that they cared at all, they would waive Hutton today. I honestly don't think its a coincidence that their compete has gone completely out the window the second Ullmark was injured. The players know, just as much as the fans know, that Hutton stinks and doesn't give them any chance to compete day in day out. Not that its acceptable, just understandable. By picking up Stalock and waiving Hutton it would at least give them the perception that the organization cares The last 32 times Hutton has played, the Sabres are 7W 20L and 5OT losses his save percentage is .889 If you fire Krueger and keep Hutton, I don't care who coaches the team, they aren't going to win with Hutton Just for reference over the same time Oct 24th 2019 onwards. With Ullmark they are 20-17-4 he has a .916 save percentage.

After this past weekend, I’ll admit it’s pretty difficult to remain optimistic.
-
It’s a small club (optimistic Sabres fan) at them momen. I once again completely agree with you think of this season as an extended training camp Playing the best teams in the NHL night in and night out learn from them and play like them next season when they are back in the division with Ottawa, MTL, and Detroit. What’s next?? Claim Anthony Stalock on waivers from Minnesota today

When he’s back play Borgen with Dahlin. It’s was a small sample size but they looked like the perfect fit Assuming both McCabe and Risto have come into their own. You have a pretty good top 2 pairs I sign Hall still. At least he’s dangerous and is a big part of the best PP in league. He’s not getting 8*8 though. It’s time to reunite Jack with Skinner and Reinhart. If you are grooming Cozens to be a centre, keep with Staal. I have no issue with Staal being his mentor for the season though you do trade Staal at the deadline you have to put Casey as 3rd line centre. Give him Oloffson and Tage. figure out what you have with Tage - if anything. I know most want to give up on him but let him play night in night out to know for sure I still am a big fan of Lazar You play him with Girgenson and another high energy player Maybe play them between Asplund ? I won’t count on Quinn to be ready next year the main thing is improve the goaltending!!! UPL with Ullmark should be good Get UPL acclimated to the league as a 1b IF 1)Ullmark plays like he did as a true #1, 2) Risto and McCabe have in fact turned the corner on their careers 3) Borgen is the perfect compliment to Dahlin 4) Eichel, Hall (if back) and Skinner figure out how to score again 5) stay relatively healthy they are a playoff team next season and all this losing will be finally put behind us I honestly believe it will happen maybe it’s just blind hope at this point

The season is officially done on the news of Ullmark out for at least a months Odds of them making the playoffs this season has gone from slim to none Is there anything they can do to make you optimistic for the 21-22 season? I’d like for them to play the young players from here out. Mitts, Tage, Asplund and Bryson. Let them make their mistakes, hopefully they improve and you get to see if there is any hope for them Maybe they should Cozens be moved to Center? Or put Mitts between Cozens and Hall? AgAin with an eye for next season I’m pretty optimistic for next season I think they will be a playoff team maybe even top 10

Ullmark: Maybe a bright spot in the darkness?
Crusader1969 replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
I would like to add that there are a few bright spots this season. Borgen, Ullmark, Cozens. The much improved play of McCabe and Risto. Hopefully Mitts will be officially added to this category. I think Dahlin has improved a lot and with Borgen we really started to see him break out. The PP and PPK have been decent. The PP is the league's best. It was always going to be a tough year playing in this division. Next year Hutton is gone. Could we see a Ullmark and UPL tandem? either way the goaltending wil be improved. There will be a lot of eye-rolling on this statement but I forecast a top 10 team next year Definite playoff team in their actual division...and yes i know we are all tired of next year. -

100% AGREE. If this team is serious about winning this season then Hutton can not spend another minute in the line-up. He needs to be relegated to the Taxi squad or out right released. The worst part is that this is something thats not new to them. He was the worst goalie in the league last season and they came back with him. Why sign Hall to 1 year deal and come back with Hutton? it makes no sense. For all the good Adams may have done this off-season, it totally negated by him not improving the goalie tandem. -

You have to blame Adams. No way Hutton should still be on this team you force Ullmark into playing how many 4 or 5 games in 7 nights. It’s going to lead him into being worn out or injured If Linus misses any time - turn out the lights on this season. Play the youngsters and move onto next year -

Would the Sabres be better off with only dressing Ullmark and relying on the zamboni driver when he gets hurt ? -

Can’t be too upset about this one. Haven’t played in 15 days , missing a bunch of regulars against a rolling islanders team They look spent this 3rd period. Not going to hold much hope for tomorrow either. Especially with Hutton in net hopefully by thursday, they should be ready to at least compete with the Capitals. -

Good on Ullmark for bouncing back after that softie. Now go get him some competition for the #1 goalie spot Lazar once again! Huge part of this team
