maybe but we have to admit Matthews has been put in a better situation from Eichel with Supporting cast. I think Marner is a great player but try to find one puck battle he won in the entire 7 game series. As many delay of the game penalties as he has playoff goals...thats damning

Sign me up. Sabres draft ranking 1) Powers 2) Beniers 3) Clarke Beniers and Powers go back to Michigan. You sign them after the season. hopefully they become eligible to get a few NHL games and join Roch for playoffs (this might be impossible, I can’t remember the rules ) clarke is interesting. Already played pro hockey during covid. Don’t think the OHL playing against 16 year olds makes sense. Maybe goes back to Europe?

I think Buffalo has a chance of finishing higher than them. Now Matthews and Marner are strong regular season players. Tavares at 31 will be a very good #2c with Nylander but what about the rest of the team this is a team that plays bogo consistently and a lot of their depth is at the tail end (or end) of their careers and they can’t afford to replace them in the UFA market. Now if Eichel and Samson are traded for talent that is a 1 or 2 away , then it’s a different conversation

i would bet that the Leafs get Swept vs TB, Bos and the Avalanche A fully healthy Sabres line-up puts up a better fight than MTL.

Sure they have Matthews, Marner (disappearing act once again), Nylander and Tavares. I like Hyman but their D is poor, Campbell - who knows how good he is and they rely a lot on players over 35 years of age, who aren;t going to improve. I think Winnipeg beats them, if they do get to the Semi's they will get swept

im guessing you are basing this off the zero minutes that you have watched of them? They would be in tough against any other playoff team outside the North. They wouldnt be in the playoffs in the East.

Toronto is only a product of a terrible division. Wait till they have to face Boston or Tampa or whomever they get in the semi’s They will get stomped I’m not impressed with them at all

I dont agree about Cozens nor Beniers not eventually having the potential to be a #1 Of course, they don't have Beniers yet though in general i don't disagree, ideally they get back a centre. But Kakko, Lafreniere and K'andre Miller would be a tough deal for the Kings or Ducks to beat, My feeling is that the Rangers trade is completely Pie in The Sky..the actually deal would be much less

Cozens, Mitts, Samson, potentially Beniers. They would have a ton of cap space to sign or trade for a stopgap Center if they trade Samson as well

yes that trade to Rangers makes sense for us but would never happen from their standpoint

Have to say, watching a bit of Powers, I will no longer be upset if the Sabres draft him yes, it will eventually cause a logjam at LHD but having Dahlin and Powers on the ice 45 mins per game may not be the worst thing in the world. if he’s the BPA. Take him. Figure out the line-up later
