Yes but 23 is definitely young for a goalie Who knows what UPL will turn into when he is a few years older. And 2 years ago Dahlin should have been traded and Tage released. He’s a young goalie, relax

All I know is that I would like to see Mittlestadt away from Olofsson for a bit before I completely discard Mitts. there is absolutely no reason not to try Mitts - Jost - Hinny / Asplund for at least a couple of games As for Olofsson Find a team that is willing to trade a PP specialist for a 6th Dman who can skate and Play D

I wouldn’t read anything into it at all the team is basically made up of guys drafted in 21 The 5 that were invited who were in 22 draft or draft eligible Bedard and Fantilli ; expected to go #1 and #2 in the 23 draft Reid Schaefer - 6’3 forward to play a role that Savoie wouldn’t / couldn’t play Owen Beck would have a role as a bottom line center and face off specialist but unlikely to make the team Jordan Dumais Who is tearing up the Q and has a chance to be their 13th forward note. - Shane Wright could be loaned out Bottom line is that even though it would be great to see Savoie on team Canada they leaned towards older players (sans Bedard and Fantilli) so there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about We will see what happens in ‘24 Hopefully he has a significant role with the Sabres and they say “no thank you” when Team Canada comes calling

The coach has help make Thompson and Dahlin superstars. He’s got Skinner to once again be a top line player. he’s help make Cozens the next in line to break out and seems to be doing a tremendous job with Power, JJ and Jack once they all develop, he may not be the right coach but for the next 2 years or so, there isn’t anyone better.

Asplund - Jost - Mitts would be the next line I try im done with Olofsson., they don’t need his PP ability any longer and he is a liability 5v5.

You might be right that’s it’s due to a small sample - I did say sliver up hope. BUT the stats say he was expected to give up 8.9 and he only let in 7.2 May not be great but better than both Comrie in 11 games and Anderson who have both given up more than what was expected 5v5

Talking about goaltending - I did find one sliver of hope for UPL out of the 3 goalies this year , he is the only one who’s let in less goals than expected 5v5 also has the best save percentage at .916 at 5v5 I’m curious to see him vs teams that aren’t Col, TB and Toronto And hope like hell they stop taking so many penalties

Why wouldn’t they move the start of the Sabres game up a couple of hours? Sabres at 5. Over at 7:30. Home in time for the Bills I’ll watch the Sabres till Kickoff- stay off my phone till half time and scroll through the remainder of the hockey in that 15 time slot Often these are Dahlin games He’s been great in most every game but when playing against guys like Makar, Quinn, Hedman, we sometimes see something special from him
