Skinner, Okie and Hinistroza are all due for a goal, I think 2/3 of them net one tonight. With Samuelsson out I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Lybushkin which I'm all for, I've really liked what he's brought to the team so far.

I love how we have Dahlin and in two years were going to have Power playing at that level as well.

I recall during that hot start with Kruger, the analytics community kept saying their play was not sustainable and they weren't "outplaying" the other teams. I also recall ignoring that "nonsense" as "horse cuss" and then was depressed when they came crashing down to earth and those people said, "see, told you so". This is is different. The only game we didn't deserve to win so far was Edmonton but good teams eke out a few of those wins from time to time in a season.

Tonight was a warmup for Seattle. It's gonna be a blowout.

Asong as JJP is putting up a point per game there's no way you pull him out of the lineup. This is a great problem to have that there's nobody except maybe VO you'd want out of the sabres lineup in place of your hotshot rookie who tore up the AHL last year. In years past wed be forcing a player like him into the lineup. Since we're not using VO on PP1 (which makes zero sense to me), then I have no problem swapping him for Quinn for a game although I doubt DG will do that so soon? Injuries happen, Quinn will get his shot and when it happens he'll be hungry.

Really impressive won considering we were down a defenseman very early on. I always thought a natural hat trick was when you scored all three goals against a goalie (meaning empty netters don't make it natural) but three in a row makes more sense.

It's a travesty they only scored one that period. Hopefully that lights a fire in them and they don't let you in the third.

Dahlins career high of goals is 13 in 80 games. This year he was 4 in 4. Thinking he's setting a new high this year.

Thank God Dahlin is on another level because our power play is awful.

My pre-game thoughts: 1. I hope Comrie gets the nod to start again, give Anderson Vancouver or Seattle. 2. Hopefully Lybushkin is back, although I doubt it. 3. Dahlin will score (Caesars app has him at +500 to score) 4. Does Quinn come back or does he sit another? I'm guessing he sits one more against Calgary and comes back for the easier Van/Sea games. 5. I know we technically scored a PP against Edmonton on a 4v3, but we've yet to register a 5v4 goal. This needs to change. 6. I think Okposo scores today, he's due. Go Sabres.

If we want to have a hot start this year they have to address the Power Play. I know they technically scored a PP goal yesterday, but that was a 4-3. The 5-4 performance has been godawful. I have no idea why VO isn't on PP1. They should have Tage on the opposite side of him and have Dahlin work the puck and feed them both one-timers.
