  1. The Sabres need to add UFAs or players via trade that make it highly improbable any rookies make the team. Ryan Johnson should be a Sabre full time. They have a massive logjam at lhd now and the Byram trade just looks bizarre tbh. I'm not sure I'd return any ufas and I'd look at trading Krebs and Jokiharju for nhl veteran players
  2. The Sabres drafting has improved under Karmanos, Ventura and company. We're starting to see that as these guys trickle over to NA.
  3. I've seen parts of this. I should read it but the general gist is investment growth outpaces productivity growth Terry gets about 1 billion in cash and yes the 25% owner would probably get first right of refusal for 100% when Pegula sells.
  4. Wasn't signed long term and the writing was on the wall for a long time he might be traded. I mean someone that has term left and is still here.
  5. You think Pegula is going to sell both teams because of Estate Taxes. Oh man, ppl really do buy the crap rich ppl shovel. "Forces the family to sell" give me a break. Pegula will owe estate taxes regardless of the Bills or Sabres. The guy is worth Billions of dollars.
  6. I think they need to pick a rostered player under contract and part of the "core" and make a hockey trade. Send the message that this isn't a beach club.
  7. I heard Ryan Reynolds likes hockey. Maybe Terry should call him.
  8. You talking about the fans that picked Hasek over Puppa and Fuhr or the fans that picked Miller over Biron? Just asking so I know.
  9. lmao "estate taxes become more burdensome" go home Tim, no one gives a flying F about Pegula eventually having to pay an estate tax.
  10. He's already above average in the NHL.
  11. Notice how I am not at all in the Sabres Sales mongering rumor thread, that's because I think the topic isn't worth discussing. You should follow my lead and stay out of threads you don't care about.
  12. Discuss, Levi was 16th and UPL 19th in Goals Saved Above Expected. 10.7 v 9.4
  13. 4? If they track the way I think, 4 years from now they will be worth 8mil a year.
  14. And you don't have to pay any of those players this summer and if you do it doesn't matter because those contracts don't kick in until next year No, I wouldn't have paid Power like he did and I would have been justified for that. I don't a scenario where they trade Mattias Samuelsson this summer. There is no real reason too. Sabres have 23mil in cap space this offseason. No reason to trade a useful NHL defender when the team is trying to get better. Don't need more picks and prospects.
  15. You aren't listening/reading. Kevyn Adams set out his criteria and one of them was previous NHL head coach experience and NHL head coach playoff experience. The guys you listed do not meet the criteria the GM of the team set forth. The rest of this is irrelevent because again, the General Manager Keveyn Adams, set forth what he is looking for "NHL Head Coach Experience and NHL Head Coach Playoff Experience" there was a follow up question immediately after if he meant NHL Head Coaching experience and the question was barely out of the reporters mouth before Adams responded "Yes".
  16. Why can't they keep Dahlin, Power, Muel, and Byram? Guess toss in Clifton too. Those are the only 5 defenders they have under contract for next year, so why are they trading Samuelsson?
  17. You don't think the guy with 6 years left on his deal that was signed by Kevyn Adams and is exceedingly well liked in that room while being a useful NHL defender will be in Buffalo next year? Odd.
  18. Cut outright: Olofsson, Jost, Robinson, Clague, Comrie Trade their rights: Krebs, Jokiharju Bring in via trade or UFA, 4 new forwards and 2 new defenders.
  19. My issue with all of these, they are focused on Granato. "We didn't play well enough for Granato to keep his job. Donny would still be here if we were better" and that isn't the f-ing point. The Sabres missed the playoffs, again. They weren't good enough to make it to the playoffs again. Donny is collateral damage and the fact the players only could focus on that shows their lack of maturity IMPO. That coupled with the idea they all seem to have assumed Granato would just be back next year is interesting. Only other thing I will say is there was clearly a team meeting of some kind after Granato was let go in which "it is on us" "gotta practice the right way" and "next head coach needs experience" were the talking points because they all spewed the same thing. I am not saying they don't necessarily think or believe it but it was a little too uniform.
