    I am a season ticket holder, and I don't care that half a dozen guys that I don't want on my team are leading a charge to stick it to the fans. Zemgus, Risto, Moulson, Gorges, Zadarov, Ennis, Kane, Bogo, even the Captain. None of these guys are mouthing off to the media. They respect that the fans are in a tough spot. Weber will be a great AHLer some day.

    I challenge the people who say that the tank was a bad plan to offer a scenario that puts this team anything other than finishing with 80-90 points for the past few seasons and having single middling first round picks rather than multiple first round picks including some that are in the top 10. In this case, the 1 failed season of tanking is just tacked onto the 40+ failed seasons of trying to win the cup.

    In a way, Zemgus was also a tank-style-trade pick. traded a current player for a pick and made the team worse in the short term, may have even cost us a playoff spot (we missed by 3 points that year).

    Me too. In Baseball, at the Deadline, you see prospects traded for MLB ready relief pitchers occasionally, but at least at that point your talking about futures who are playing professional baseball. It hurts more to let that kind of asset go, so it happens less than the firesales you see in the NHL.

    Baseball has no pick trading (We'll essentially no pick trading, there is one caveat). If you want to get rid of the tanks, don't let GM's trade hockey players for futures. Make every trade a hockey trade.

    Agreed. Unfortunately, the lone low-seed that got through to the final 4 is a perennial power.

    Yeah, I think the things that moves the needle to solidly in the playoff hunt will be Samson and McEichel no longer being rookies, and either (a) a great goalie and/or (b) a head coach who doesn't exclusively rely on the goalie to get wins. In otherwords, if they fire Nolan, we'll be in the playoffs in 2017

    4 new faces in the top 6 (Kane, Samson, McEichel, Winger). It could move the needle, especially if Samson figures it out.

    Looks like Mario only played 26 games that year, Crosby definitely had the most minutes of any Penguins center by the end of the season.
