I will say this whole thing makes me want vomit. A whole string of adults, specifically charged with helping develop (albeit older) kids, tacitly condoning this abomination. This is the kind of ###### that keeps the devil awake at night, wondering if he's doing a good enough job.

It is the most heinous of crimes, and it goes beyond the athletic department, it implicates the entire university. Shut it down and build a new one somewhere else.

I honestly believe that JoePa was in denial that this was actually happening. That said, I think his termination was a good course of action for the university. And not waiting a few months for the heat to build up show's good character on the boards part.

By state statute, the Penn State Police Department has full policing authority just like any other municipal police department. The accusation happened in their jurisdiction, they ABSOLUTELY would be the appropriate police authority. If I witness a rape on my street, and reported it to the chief of police, would I be morally obligated to make sure they follow up?

Now I'm confused. According to the Grand Jury Presentment, Paterno reported the incident the VP of operations for the University. Who is the head of the University Police. So why are people saying he didn't go to the police?

Horses and Bourbon are the redeeming qualities of this God Forsaken Smog Catching Valley. I don't know if I could go on without them. EDIT: Actually being able to be employed is also a redeeming quality of this place.

Waiting on a call back for an interview with a manufacturing company in the Finger Lakes. Similar job and compensation to what I'm doing now...500 miles closer to family and the FNC. The waiting is absolutely killing me.

Yes. But the Steelers and Ravens are hardly dumb as rocks. I see the bills finishing with 10 or 11 wins, then losing their first game in the playoffs. This team is not built to beat good talent with good coaching. They will do well to the last game of the season except maybe the trip to San Diego and the Visit from the Titans. They really only have 1 impressive win so far. And they get to close the regular season out against them at their place.

Don't get me wrong, I want these guys to succeed too. But football is a game where Talent eventually wins out. That is why the SEC has 5 straight National Titles. This team has a great thing going, I hope they have as much talent as they do heart when the time comes.

Woke up this morning to a treat. The smell of chocolate permeating my entire house! My wife and 3 year old got up early to make me chocolate truffles for my bday. My wife, being the most amazing wife on the planet, figured out she could substitute bourbon for the vanilla in the recipe. She bought Bulleit (a rye whiskey from the Four Roses distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY) Delicious. She made 5 varieties by changing the topping on the truffle: Sea Salt, Coconut, Cocoa Powder, Chili Powder, and...wait for it... BACON! Absolutely amazing, and now I have 7/8ths of a bottle of Bulleit to get through, I think I'll start with my coffee. Bourbon Truffles and Absolutely no work/housework to do today. Wish it was Friday, it would be F'N ... :D

This would be reason alone for me to quit my job and move elsewhere. On an F'N Fantastic note: Sunday is my birthday, and it is the only day of the year I can get my wife to go to a big chain restaurant (she prefers to support local independents). It's ShrimpFest at Red Lobster, and Ungodly Amounts of Terribly Prepared Seafood is my favorite treat in the world.
