  1. With miller, you don't have to worry all the time about goaltending. With his $3M replacement, you would. For less than 5% of the cap, I'll take not having to worry.
  2. End of year UFAs: Leopold - 2nd Regher - 1st and Prospect Scott - no market Hecht - 3rd End of year RFAs: Hodgson - (2) 1sts and a top prospect Flynn - no market Weber - 2nd Enroth - 3rd The "Big Three": Miller - late first, NHL Player, Goalie Prospect Vanek - 2 1st and a top prospect Pominville - Top Prospect, middling prospect, and a first The Huge Contracts: Leino - no market Myers - 2 1st and a top Prospect Ehrhoff - 3 first round picks or equivalent The Young guys with Contract Time left: Ennis - early 1st Gerbe- 2nd Foligno - 1st rounder and a prospect The Others: Kaleta - 2nd Ott - 1st and 2nd Stafford - no market Sekera - no market due to recent injury Porter- 3rd
  3. I like this mode. I think players/draft picks are pretty interchangable if they're young, i.e. a first round pick last year is similar to a first rounder in this years draft (for the most part)
  4. Not sure the best way to format this, but I'd like to see thoughts on the prospective trade value of the following players. I'm thinking more along the lines of what you think the market will bear, not what you'd want back. After the deadline (assuming some trades are made) we can look back and check our player value vs. the actual market. I understand that this is a significant undertaking. End of year UFAs: Leopold Regher Scott Hecht End of year RFAs: Hodgson Flynn Weber Enroth The "Big Three": Miller Vanek Pominville The Huge Contracts: Leino Myers Ehrhoff The Young guys with Contract Time left: Ennis Gerbe Foligno The Others: Kaleta Ott Stafford Sekera Porter
  5. Could we rephrase peak value to, prime of career in the muddle of a contract? Darcy seems to trade very young guys (Kassian, Byron, Butler, and thr like) and outgoing contacts (Campbell, goose, etc.) But never 26-30 year olds with a few years left on thr books. Could someone have the intern pull the data?
  6. There's the PP we know and love!
  7. PP has had Good Puck Movement all night. ~Rob Ray, 5 minutes into the game.
  8. I got a bottle of the McKenzie Pure Pot Still for St Paddy's day. I had to forego the standard fair due to my commitment to only drink NYS alcohol this year. My comment is that it is very simple and, in my opinion, underaged. It would improve greatly with another 2-3 summers in the barrel I think. Drinkable, but not worth the $45 bottle price.
  9. I never thought of this. If Darcy et al. really believe so much in the corsi numbers. We can have him lose faith in his players in order to trade them, and still win every game. We just need more games like saturdays game! Thank you Drane. I can now root for the collapse and the win!
  10. After which season did DR do nothing? After the loss to Philly? when he traded for Ehrhoff's rights and signed him, Signed the #2 forward on nearly everyone's FA list (Leino), Traded for Robyn Regher and a Second, and let Tim Connolly go waste Toronto's money? Or last year, when he traded Goose for a 1st Rounder, Kassian for Hodgson, Roy for Ott and Pardy, Traded up at the draft to get Girgensons, and signed John Scott and Kevin Porter? Just for clarity, in the 2 off-seasons Darcy is accused of thinking his team is fine due to a late season run and done nothing, he has gotten rid of half the old core skaters, acquired 6 of tonight's 18 starting skaters, and drafted 2 high end center prospects.
  11. There is no trade for Drew Stafford @ $4M and there are compliance buyouts this summer. 17 Game Scratch sounds perfect.
  12. With the best forward on the team being Austrian, and the best defender being German, I'm really surprised Hitler is mentioned more.
  13. This is me. I want trades for growth at the deadline, and wins for the rest of the year. I'm not interested in one draft pick that may or may not pan out into a top end player that changes the course of the franchise. I want a couple big pieces moved and I want what's left to show me they can win.
  14. Drew Stafford is the one player I am willing to lose for nothing. Pressbox for the next 16 games, then compliance buyout in the summer. I will be perfectly fine never seeing him on the ice again and getting nothing in return.
  15. Did you watch the Finals in 2011?
  16. It's not really about the rest of the season, It's about the next 5 games. One draft pick is great, but we can do much more on April 3rd than we can in June.
  17. NJ goes to OTT, then follows us through Florida. We have WAS after the Florida trip. If we can get 5 and NJ only gets 2 (loses to OTT then Splits FLA/TB) we'll be 3 points out, even games, with 13 left to play. More importantly, it will give Darcy justification not to trade assets for growth. I'm looking at it this way, we need to lose 3 of the next 5 or win the Cup. Anything in between is likely a disaster.
  18. If Stafford never puts the jersey on again, I won't be sad.
  19. Last year, with 57, 10, and 44 in the lineup, the team was outstanding. These numbers make complete sense.
  20. Did we sign #55's brother? Who the hell is this Johan Hecht HNIC broadcast keeps referring to?
  21. This does not describe the Islanders, and therefore does not aptly describe Hockey Hell.
  22. Win this game, Get 3 out of 4 in florida, and you're probably looking a 2-3 points out, even games going into the last weekend before the deadline. Watch every Sabres Fan's head simultaneously explode.
