It’s hard for me to expect that the relatively small changes up front made that much difference. Certainly it wasn’t expected by most here. Which means we have to believe that this much performance change is the result of the defense or the coach. Given that we still have 4 of 6 defenders from most of last season, and 2 of them were among the most maligned players on the team, I cannot say I expected huge gains there. And that leaves coaching. Given that my belief was that we had player problems greater than coach problems over the last 7 seasons, I have to wonder if this is sustainable. I’ll need to see consistency. A good, solid stretch of it. It may not be until well into the stretch run in the last 1/3 of the season before I’ll be able to be all in.

I don't think Erod has the skill set Kreuger wants on that line. Sobotka is certainly less than ideal, but I think he fills a role that is important for Kreuger. Erod would not fill that role.

We must have watched different games. There was a large difference in shot totals and a large difference in dangerous chances as well, all in Buffalo’s favor. I didn’t go looking for possession data by I got the sense we had a sizeable advantage there too. That was a really good offensive performance last night.

I cut the cord about 7yrs ago. Since then I used a variety of not legal sources to watch the games. Every one I’ve used gets unreliable late in the season and especially during the playoffs. I’m looking for alternatives to reddit etc.. I know that conversation is frowned upon here. Anyone willing to discuss please PM me. I’m also woefully behind the times with roku and other devices and how to best get Sabres coverage using alternate sources. And I am cost sensitive. Frankly, when the team is good enough, maybe I’ll value the programming enough to consider what television content costs. But I doubt it. I don’t want to hijack this thread about this either so PMd advice regarding alternate means for an in market legal viewing of Sabres games is also appreciated. thanks.
